He paints the world around him,
his brushes desperate for beauty,
the canvas hesitant to be touched.
A desperate search for meaning.
He looks at the world around him,
now seeing what he has done,
a hopeless mess of colours
that will soon fade away.
And he realizes that he, too, must fade away.
