Description ...turns to stone.

Blow out - Radiohead

In my mind
And nailed into my heels
All the time
Killing what I feel

And everything I touch
(all wrapped up in cotton wool)
(all wrapped up in sugar-coated pills)
Turns to stone
Everything I touch
(all wrapped up in cotton wool)
(all wrapped up in sugar-coated pills)
Turns to stone

I am fused
Just in case I blow out
I am glued
Just in case I crack out

And everything I touch turns to stone
Everything I touch
(all wrapped up in cotton wool)
(all wrapped up in sugar-coated pills)
Turns to stone...

I'm not quite in the right frame of mind to leave an incredibly cool insightful comment, so I'll just go with what I thought when I saw this.

This is really freaking sad! I feel bad. It's amazingly done, though. Great work.

Keep up the great work.

Expressing pure and sincere feeling in one or two words can be as effective as an insightful comment when you're dealing with emotional art at times.

Thank you

Ok I ALWAYS gotta critique your art like... is a snotty seriousness so like bare with me, 'kay? XD

As per tradition I shall start beating you over the head with meany stuff D: The scene itself is very good but its seems a bit flat, and bright for the mood. THAT'S IT! YAY! CONGRATZ! XDDDD

now the good stuff... The expression was perfectly caught. I mean that alone is enough for me to fav this. If we had an honorable mentions thing on our pages, I'd put this on it, and show it to everyone that visits my page. But then you went and NAILED the proportions so well... I think you took a picture of some wolf, and traced over it XDD. Even the three-jointed legs are extremely well done. (Bare with me... I'm running out of good adjectives to use XD). The background transition from a peaceful red-sepia, to a dead, and non-living gray was executed like... magnificently.

You know Yaka loves your critiques!

Completely agreed on the flat thing, I noticed it all the time, and tried hard to fix it, but sadly enough, that was the best I could do, stayed with the unfinished piece un-worked since the last trip and couldn't bare more to have it unfinished like that, so against my own will to make it perfect my impatient nature won this struggle . Although, the bright was secretly part of the mood, I was tempted to make it darker, but then, the stone wasn't going to look that "cold".

D'aww thank you, specially this concept needed to transmit a great deal of interior pain and frustration, as the lyrics are pretty personal to Thom Yorke and myself and deal with such a powerful theme. Tee hee, I'm so glad you think so! I was just telling Keen that for this pic I worked pretty hard on the anatomy, lately I wasn't happy with my doodles and indeed watched many wolf pics to makes this pose, even studied famished wolves, cuz as you prolly know, Yaka has a malnourished look. I wanted to put a great deal of work on the background, as the central idea was the sorrow of watching everything turning into cold stone, I know it wasn't executed as best as it could have been, but I'm glad you caught the feeling and liked it

hehe, thanks!!

Radiohead music makes me feel depressed. Which is probably the message Thom Yorke wants to give us. I really relate to that guy, along with Graham Coxon and Richard Ashcroft

BTW, I like the anatomy of your character there

Yakarin In reply to FreyFox [2006-07-22 23:39:12 +0000 UTC]

I love radiohead, specialy Thom's lyrics and voice, so bitter at times. Yet, I feel the depression is the first step, but after listening a lot (they are my favourite band so.. heh), you enter like in a state of awareness, where you feel and get this bitter-sweet mix of messages, where you see reality in a pesimistic way, though, you can feel there's hope, cuz somebody else realizes it, and even encourages you weekly in some defeated lyrics, if you know what i mean

Why thank you!!! You're the first one to mention that, and i must say i took a lot of time to get a better anatomy here

Thank you, I used Open Canvas and added a bit of noise in the end.

Hehe, indeed, I was reworking my drawings anatomy and precisely the paws turned out to be a big deal of problem between my often big paws and the real size of paws >.o

Thanks a lot for the feedback
