Description Mordred's Song

I've lost my battle before it starts
my first breath wasn't done
my spirit's sunken deep
into the ground
why am I alone
I can hear my heartbeat
silence's all around

See hate will rise
so don't come closer
fear your child
born with a king's heart
but fate fooled me
and changed my cards
noone asked if I want it
if I like it

Pain inside is rising
I am the fallen one
a figure in an old game
no Joker's on my side
I plunged into misery
I'll turn off the light
and murder the dawn
turn off the light
and murder the dawn

Nothing else,
but laughter is around me
forevermore
noone can heal me
nothing can save me
noone can heal me
I've gone beyond the truth
it's just another lie
wash away the blood on my hands
my father's blood
in agony we're unified

I never wanted to be
what they told me to be
fulfill my fate then I'll be free
god knows how long
I tried to change fate

I plunged into misery
I'll turn off the light
and murder the dawn
turn off the light
and murder the dawn

~ Blind Guardian

Mordred is one of my all time favorite Characters. So full of extreme opposites.
He hates an loves his father.. is torn by his fate to overthrow the king and take his place that he doesnt even want - just to save the old religion, the old believings.
He tries to fight his Fate, but to no avail.

in the end Arthur Kills Mordred, his only son, in a fight, but is mortally wounded and brought to the Isle of Avalon by his Sister Morgaine, High-Priestess of Avalon and Mother of Mordred.

Tools: Watercolor, Acryl ( lamp black and Titanium White) on 275 g / m² Watercolor Paper

Not as good as I hoped it would come out but well.. getting rusty with the traditional painting stuff... -_-

(yes I copied the text from the sketch... I'm lazy xD )

I can't stand how many people seem to hate Mordred. Yes, he did evil things, but that's mainly because he was twisted at an early age, and being told his father attempted to drown him probably didn't help him think Arthur was a good person. Personally, I wonder what would have happened if Arthur had simply summoned for Mordred as a baby or a very young child to be brought to Camelot, and chosen to raise him there. I mean, what reason would Mordred have for killing him then? In the book, his motiviation seems to be mostly anger at Arthur trying to kill him, after all.
