You know an american could never pull off saying that. You have to have a British accent...and be Tom Hiddleston.

There are a lot of statements that really don't work with an american accent......

Lol. Yeah. (This will probably sound really weird, but I LOVE the way Tom Hiddleston says "Loki" and "Thor")

I'm a complete anglophile and seriously... if you say "Doctor" , meaning Doctor Who and you pronounce the R at the end..... you're saying it wrong. LOL.

I saw Midnight in Paris where Tom plays F Scott Fizgerald, who is of course American, and as much as I love Tom, and I don't mean to say he was doing a bad American accent, because he certainly wasn't, it just sounded so wrong for him to speak like that.

Yeah, no kidding. He does the accent better than most English actors actually, but still... British accents are just so much better. (I have it from several Englishmen that I can imitate it perfectly...when they told me that it was like a highlight of my life!) Doctor has no "r" at the end *shakes head* nuh uh. Believe it or not though, I haven't seen any full Docta Who episodes. I've seen lots of clips, but never a full episode. No TV, slow internet...YouTube load slow...

Btw, the first englishman to tell me I did the accent perfectly said the simplest way to slip into a proper british accent is to remember that "It's pronounced "Bu*tt*a", not "Budder", "Bu*tt*er." The funniest part is it actually works.

I think my internal accent (the one in my head that i use to think with and that I talk to my cats with) is more of a cockney accent. More fun that way But I can do a pretty convincing standard british as well. What's really strange is that in my head, my own american accent sounds fake. But I'm a chameleon so if I'm talking to Americans, I sound American. Tho i can easily put an accent on if I have a mind to. I know that if I went to London for any amount of time I would instantly have a perfect accent. Matching that of whomever I'm talking to. It's just the slang that would likely show me to be american. Unfortunately I have not had any true brits tell me my accent is authentic sounding. Would love to hear that.

A few weeks ago I went to the local Scottish Highland Games and decided as I crossed the gate I would have a Scottish Brogue all day. And did. One of the shopkeepers assumed it was my real accent. That was cool. And way fun. I love having an excuse to do that--and being with people who don't look at me funny or seem to not be able to understand me.

Wow. That's really cool! I got some accent training from a half-scot and it's SUCH a fun accent. I would love to have an excuse to use it more often (William Wallace died in 1305 on August 23rd, so I used on that day, and wore my plaid skirt!)

I can't do cockney! I can do several different regions of England, but cockney is just... ergg I wish I could do it! I can do Irish! (Dublin area) but not Cockney...

I can do a decent irish, damn fine scottish, good british, cockney is my go to it seems, Welsh--when I've been watching Torchwood (south wales then i guess...), and a little Liverpudlian if I've been watching Red Dwarf (Lister is hilarious). Never really had any training. Just watch a lot of BBC television programming. Autralian is one I can't say I can do. But when I am on stage, I don't feel like I'm acting if I haven't got an accent of some kind.

I did go to High School with a brit.... all i learned from him was that it's Monty Pythun. Not Monty PIE THON....

Lol.

I can manage Aussie SOMETIMES. Not always. One of my friends (an accent expert) says you kinda have to think about "chewing" on the words as you say them, in a way.

I've never tried Welsh... *must do so now*

I can get Spanish SOMETIMES. German SOMETIMES, and Norwegian SOMETIMES.

My "Go to" accent is actually usually Russian. I'm learning the language, so speaking the language with the proper accent is important to me, so I studied and learned it. (Everyone gets this accent wrong in movies...what is it with Hollywood and fake Russian accents??? Ok, not in "The Way Back" There's were perfect. Have you see that film?)

Sorry if I was rambling again.

I know about the stage part! I tend to act with a british accent of some kind on, and I even usually sing pronouncing words with their british sounds.

I've never seen the way back, no. It's funny, someone was saying that a lot of times when people do really bad scottish accents they end up sounding Russian....... not something I've noticed, but then I watch shows where Scots are playing Scots....

Did you know that Tom's dad is from Glascow? I think he said Glascow---war horse interview along side Cumberbatch. Anyway, he's half Scottish. *melts*

Oh yeah, I do remember hearing that. Half scottish is good. He's so perfect.

That's funny about the Russian/Scottish thing...I guess I never thought of them sounding alike. Sometimes when I try to do a french accent, if I don't accomplish it, I sound kinda Russian (not perfect though, it's like a mix between the two when I mess up). I would never have guessed Scottish could sound like that.

Yay for all things British.

Thing is, I don't think Russian sounds anything like Scottish....and neither did the guy who was talking about bad scottish accents sounding russian....... it's just too strange.

He's pretty much my ideal guy. Tall, thin, scottish..... and a complete loon.........

Lol. Not to mention that laugh/smile Now, blond or black haired? Short or long? Straight or curly? Beard or no beard? Who cares it all looks good! (I myself actually prefer his natural blond curls and the beard he's been doing is real cute)

I normally don't care for facial hair at all, but his neatly trimmed Henry V beard has really grown on me..... Initially I fell for him as Loki, so seeing him with the blonder hair was odd... but now likewise, rather prefer it. Though more tamed as in the Henries than in Wallander... and it seems to have a bit of a strawberry hue in the Henries.... which I like

Yup yup yup. I love it when his hair looks more red-ish.

Lol...I just thought. "I wonder what Tom himself would say if he read this?" And then his laugh popped into my head and I thought "probably that." Which would be worth it anyways.
