I draw these two periodically.
They were the two main characters of my....second?...NaNoWriMo novel and I still love to play around with them. I went for super generic fantasy gear and clothes, I just wanted to play with my markers.

Yeah, see the markers are transparent but colored pencils are more opaque, so you can actually fix mistakes, lighten colors, smooth a gradient and so on. The problem is since you'll typically be using marker paper, you wont be able to layer the pencils much because of the lack of sufficient paper grain.
