Description
This is my first full illustration with an OC. My God did this take forever to do. I'm really wanting to get better at drawing backgrounds so I'll try to intermediate simple drawings with more fully colored ones.

This background was inspired by the Japanese garden in the Huntington Library in Pasadena, California.

It also gave me some time to give some back story to Isago. For context, my OC's attend a high school in Tokyo used for training future secret agents in a global organization, the Bureau of Law Affairs Defense and Espionage. (BLADE)

Born into a family that is a descendant of a Samurai clan, Isago is obligated as the first born child to carry her family's legacy in the BLADE program, as they have been involved with the organization for 3 generations. Since early childhood, trained with the katana and never questioned it, but deep in her heart she still longs to be able to choose her own path.

Personality-wise, Isago is a no-nonsense girl, deriving from her status as the eldest child and having controlling parents. Often times she can be so self-disciplined that her friends often have to tell her to have fun. Almost as if it's a command. However, when she does loosen up, Isago reveals herself to be a competitive and even somewhat rowdy girl, throwing out witty comments and snarky remarks. Even a simple game of ping pong can get intense with her mindset.
