Description
Started this project after seeing all the backlash from fans about Ross Campbell's :iconmooncalfe : redesigns for the upcoming comic book series. I personally love his work and think he took all the right steps, but I wanted my project to be a social experiment to see how much I could change of a beloved series before fans revolted against an artist and started a revolution. My interpretation of Jem and her Holograms went over great surprisingly, but I pushed the envelope way more with my Misfits. Sticking with the original concept of Jetta being a POC and I liked Ross's idea of Stormer being thicker. We'll see how people like it...or hate it lolRelated content

OMG! the Misfits look spicy in their redesign looks but Pizzazz is the most edgy.

In the movie, Jetta is played by Eiza Gonzales while Roxy is played by Hana Mae Lee.

Yeah, I don't get the backlash either. If the Holograms can be diverse, why can't the Misfits? Personally, I hope the new comic gives some complexity to the Misfits and shows they are more than just villains for the sake of being villains.
Speaking of this piece of art, I think this is a wonderful update of the Misfits' looks. It's modern, but still recognizable. I do like that you found ways to keep the neon, wild patterns and face paint, because they would not be the Misfits without them.

I would love to see your versions of the Stingers. This is great. I like your version of Stormer and Jetta much better than the originals.

Yeah I had been keeping a close eye on everything on the fan boards on Facebook, people were getting really rude and even down right racist about Jetta being POC now. It got a little sickening so I decided to see how much I could change about these loved characters before people raged against it entirely. Also, Thank you for the compliment lol
