Description Bakura narrowed his eyes at the beautifully decorated tree in front of him as he brought the mug to his lips, drinking the hot and chocolaty liquid that Ryou had made earlier. He wrapped the blanket tighter around him, wishing that he and Marik hadn't caused the fireplace to break during their most recent venture.
"Stupid holiday," he muttered under his breath. Ever since he had gotten his own body, he had actually enjoyed most holidays. Valentine's Day was the day that Malik grew a pair and confessed his love to him (though he'd never admit it, he often smiled at the memory), during the Fourth of July he had an excuse to blow things up, he and Marik scared multiple little children during Halloween, and during Thanksgiving, he was able to eat all the food he wanted.
But this...Christmas was the stupidest holiday that anyone could ever concoct.
It was bloody cold, you had to get people stuff, and you had to put a tree in your house and decorate it.
Not to mention the music. Bakura could hear Ryou listening to the radio from the kitchen, humming to some song about a fat guy who snuck into your house and ate your cookies and gave your kids candy once a year, stalking you for the rest of the year. Bakura growled, wishing that Christmas was never created.
He then heard the door slam open, "Honey, I'm home!"
That was another thing Bakura hated: Marik's cheerfulness.
Bakura turned to glare at him, only to calm down after he saw Malik's apologetic smile.
Earlier, Malik and Marik had left to buy Christmas presents. Bakura told them specifically not to buy him anything. He refused to take part in this ridiculous holiday and besides; he could steal anything he wanted.
He sighed, knowing that they probably did get him something. Malik because he loved him, and Marik just to bother him.
Speaking of Marik bothering him, said yami put his arm around Bakura's neck, "Hey, Grinch!"
Bakura shoved him away, "Back off! You're cold!"
Marik blinked, "Is Scrooge more correct?"
He backed away when Malik glared at him. Said hikari sat beside him on the couch after he hung his coat back up, "Sorry that he's being annoying. There were free samples at this one cake place and he had one too many."
Bakura let out a combination of a scoff and a laugh, "Well, you had to deal with him all day."
Malik smiled gently, "I guess so."
He placed his head on Bakura's shoulder absently, which Bakura had no objection to.
Malik sighed, "It's beautiful, isn't it..."
He was staring at the tree. Bakura nodded. "Yeah, it's lovely."
Bakura looked down at his boyfriend. Was he shivering...?
He held his hot chocolate in front of Malik's face, "Here, you can have the rest. You must be freezing from being out there."
Malik took the drink gratefully, "Yes...thanks." He took a sip and muttered, "I love Christmas."
Bakura tensed and Malik quickly sat up, "Oh, sorry! I forgot that you didn't like Christmas..."
He trailed off, and then shoved the mug into Bakura's hands, "Here, I'm going to go wrap the presents now! Good night!"
Before he could say anything, Malik dashed from the room.
Bakura glared at the tree, Damn you, tree. If you hadn't been here to constantly remind everybody that Christmas was so damn near, then we could get on with our lives, and I wouldn't have to deal with this damn holiday.
"You should give Christmas a try."
Bakura's head snapped in the direction of the speaker. Ryou stood there with his arms crossed. His hair was kept back by a bandana, he was wearing an apron, and there were stray pieces of dough on his face.
Bakura snapped, "Aren't you too busy singing about some fat guy who breaks into peoples' houses?"
Ryou sighed, "I'm going to help Malik wrap the presents. Just think about what I said, please?"
He didn't answer, and Ryou shook his head as he left.
Bakura finished off his hot chocolate with a frown. He didn't mean to chase Malik off like that...
He stood up, his blanket still around him. What he was going to do was go upstairs, offer to help Malik to wrap presents, hope that Ryou would get the message and leave, and then ask for forgiveness. If all goes well, then he and Malik could share a moment like they had just moments ago, before the 'CH' word was uttered.
Bakura quickly walked upstairs and walked down the hallway. He was about to knock on Malik's door when he heard the seven most shocking words that had ever been muttered ever:
"I don't think Bakura loves me anymore."
Bakura felt his heart twist and turn inside of him. Did Malik really feel like that?
He then heard Ryou's voice, "Don't be silly. He loves you very much."
Malik let out a dry laugh, "Really? Then why does he have a panic attack whenever I mention the so-called 'happiest time of the year'?"
"Malik, he's not used to these kinds of things. His idea of the word 'holiday' is to make out with you, eating, and blow things up."
"Do you think I'm used to Christmas?" Bakura could tell that Malik was trying hard not to cry, "All my childhood I've lived underground, and then lived in a boat until now. When I learned about Christmas, I dreamt of celebrating it with the one I fell in love with, but..."
He let out a sigh, "I love Bakura very much, and don't ever intend on loosing him ever, but now I can't live the one thought that kept me sane through the years where I was evil and mind-controlled people for fun."
Bakura couldn't listen anymore. He backed far away and leaned against the wall.
Christmas was really that important to Malik? And I've been acting like a self-centered jerk. There's nothing that I can do to make me forgive me...
"Christmas isn't over yet."
Bakura looked up to see Marik standing in front of him as he continued, "There are probably still some shops open out there, so you can get something nice."
Bakura's eyes went wide. He opened his mouth to thank Marik but the egyptian said, "You'll need to hurry, though."
Without another word, Bakura dashed for the door.
-~-~-~-

Bakura pulled the blanket over his head, trying to ignore the banging on the door, "Wake up, Kitty! It's Christmas!"
He hissed, "Go away, Marik!"
He heard Ryou say gently, "Let him sleep."
"But then he won't open my present!"
Ah-ha! So Marik had gotten him a present!
"I'm sure he'll open it later."
"Hmph. Fine, but just because you're adorable and I so get permission to stroke your hair later today."
...Bakura wished he hadn't heard that last part...
He heard thumping, as if the two were walking down the stairs.
Malik spoke, "Hey, guys, I found a present for me but it doesn't say who it's from on the outside. Do you guys know?"
Bakura's heart skipped a beat. Of course they didn't know. For a second, he wished that he hadn't done something so...sappy.
Marik said, "Open it and find out!"
There was the noise of paper being ripped off a box, and then Malik's startled gasp, "Asbusa!"
Marik spoke next with surprise and disbelief, "Asbusa? I doubt it."
He then said, probably answering Ryou's confused look, "Asbusa is an Egyptian sweet."
Malik still sounded shocked, "Who gave me this?"
There was the slight sound of paper being picked up and Ryou read out loud, "'I heard what you said last night and I beg for forgiveness. Love, Bakura'."
There was a long silence. Bakura wished that it would never end, so that he would never have to face the humiliation he was sure to face soon.
Malik told them, "Stay here."
Bakura heard him running up the stairs, and quickly closed his eyes when the door opened and closed.
"Bakura, I know that you're awake."
The thief sighed as he sat up, "...nice weather we're having?"
He was unprepared for Malik to jump on him and start kissing him passionately, neither of which Bakura responded to negatively.
When they pulled away for air, Malik smiled, "Bakura, in all my life, I had never ever received such a wonderful and thoughtful gift."
Bakura responded, "You deserve it."
Malik's eyes widened as he faintly gasped, "Bakura..."
He was never able to finish that sentence as Bakura grabbed Malik into another passionate kiss.

-~-~-~-

Ryou looked up, "I wonder what their doing up there..."
Marik replied nonchalantly, "Each other."
"M-Marik! They've barely been together for a year!"
"Still, they could be kicking things up a notch. Oh, speaking of relationships, I still get to stroke your hair!"

I mostly wrote this because there is too much Thiefshipping smut out there (not that that's a bad thing~ )
Thank you for the fav! (also, I'm stalking your account now because I like your works. Expect favs. Lots of them)

Too much? I say not enough XD though there isn't enough deathshipping >.<

You're welcome, and I feel that the only appropraite course of action is for me to stalk you back. It's what any self respecting yaoi fan would do 8D

though I should be sleeping -.-

yaoifansoftheworld In reply to YaoiYuriTwins [2010-12-17 21:33:32 +0000 UTC]

Well, yeah, true .
But with most Thiefshipping, nearly all of them involve Malik and 'Kura falling in love and hopping into bed immidietly afterwards (which I have no problem with )

Oh, I feel so honored 8D
I love being stalked...wait ._.

You should be sleeping? I have a similar problem: I should be grounded !

Eatfoodzap In reply to yaoifansoftheworld [2010-12-02 00:16:16 +0000 UTC]

Yes, yes it is.
(Although I would argue that Malik's is a lot floofier. To me, Ryo's hair looks kinda...spiky. Ohwell.)

yaoifansoftheworld In reply to Eatfoodzap [2010-12-02 00:30:02 +0000 UTC]

Oh, you have a good point there. Malik's hair is very floofy.
And I don't know, Ryou's hair always struck me as fluffy like a kitten's

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Eatfoodzap In reply to yaoifansoftheworld [2010-12-02 00:32:50 +0000 UTC]

YES. SO VERY FLOOFY.

Hmm, yeah. I dunno. Ryo himself just looks like a little kitty in general. XD

yaoifansoftheworld In reply to Eatfoodzap [2010-12-02 02:47:02 +0000 UTC]

Floofy is now the best word ever. I don't care what anyone says.

Ryou and Bakura both, but Bakura's hair looks like it could poke someone's eye out

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Eatfoodzap In reply to yaoifansoftheworld [2010-12-02 02:52:10 +0000 UTC]

Floof! It is definitely up there, along with fluctuate.

Oh definitely...actually, I once read a YGOTAS fancomic about that...*giggle*

Ohohoh, why thank you. Another is "mellifluous." I love that one.

Yes, it was HILARIOUS. Limeyman's ultimate superpower is...HIS HAIR. XD

yaoifansoftheworld In reply to Eatfoodzap [2010-12-04 05:15:56 +0000 UTC]

Mellifluous...I LIKE that word now 8D

Fft, compared to have the stuff on YuGiOh, that's actually a credible power .

Eatfoodzap In reply to yaoifansoftheworld [2010-12-04 06:46:56 +0000 UTC]

yaoifansoftheworld In reply to Eatfoodzap [2010-12-04 15:07:46 +0000 UTC]

And to be honest, most of the Millennoum Items are bloody useless...

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Eatfoodzap In reply to yaoifansoftheworld [2010-12-04 20:01:06 +0000 UTC]

Except for the Millenium Camera though! (If you've seen "Concrete Giraffes," you'll know where I'm coming from.)

Oh, and the Millenium Gay-dar. That'd be pretty useful.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

yaoifansoftheworld In reply to Eatfoodzap [2010-12-05 04:09:45 +0000 UTC]

That camera was a Millennium Item? Huh, I didn't notice (then again, I was watching it at 3 in the morning on a school night, sooo...)

That...is so true. And controlling Steves would ease one's boredom for awhile if they knew somebody with the name Steve.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Eatfoodzap In reply to yaoifansoftheworld [2010-12-05 18:03:27 +0000 UTC]

Well, it was gold, and had the eye symbol on it. I'm just assuming that it was the Milennium Camera. (Millenium Camera>Millenium Puzzle)

So very true. XD

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

yaoifansoftheworld In reply to Eatfoodzap [2010-12-05 23:07:23 +0000 UTC]

Huh, I didn't notice that. I have horrible observing skills ._.

And the Millennium Eye could make you read minds...
...let's just say that the power of Bakura's hair is somewhere in the top six.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Eatfoodzap In reply to yaoifansoftheworld [2010-12-05 23:39:14 +0000 UTC]

XD The symbol was rather hard to see. Maybe it's just me though.

Can it? Huh...

Yes, it totally is. Maybe even the top five. XD

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

yaoifansoftheworld In reply to Eatfoodzap [2010-12-05 23:46:53 +0000 UTC]

Well, scan minds, accourding to the manga, but STILL...

Perhaps, but Yugi's hair and Kaiba's gravity defying coat will be worthy competitors...

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Eatfoodzap In reply to yaoifansoftheworld [2010-12-05 23:51:10 +0000 UTC]

"Scan minds"? I've only ever read the original manga. Like, the VERY VERY first one. And I've watched a couple of episodes of the real series, but other than that, I am a complete Yu-Gi-Oh noob. (5D's doesn't count.)

Yeah. Because nobody, but nooo-body, f*cks with the hair.
I think they purposely made Kaiba's coats get more and more outrageously complicated as the series went on.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

yaoifansoftheworld In reply to Eatfoodzap [2010-12-06 02:42:15 +0000 UTC]

I'm still reading the Yu-Gi-Oh manga for the sole purpose of finding some Thiefshipping and/or Angstshipping hints that you wouldn't find in the English dub. I'm only at the point where Kaiba and Pegasus duel. Grrrr...

I think they just plain made the Yu-Gi-Oh characters impossible looks just to screw with cosplayers (I, honestly, would do the exact same thing).

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Eatfoodzap In reply to yaoifansoftheworld [2010-12-07 04:54:36 +0000 UTC]

That is an excellent idea. I did that, except with the original anime. Actually, I just skimmed whichever episodes looked Thiefshipp-ey. (Angstshipping is Malik/Ryou, right?) I tried to do that at Barnes and Noble, but they had a SAD selection of Yu-Gi-Oh manga. Couldn't even find Bakura in it. Now that's just sad...

...Now that you mention it, I think they did! Why else would they made everyone have such outrageous hair? (It makes Vegeta of DBZ look tame.)

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

yaoifansoftheworld In reply to Eatfoodzap [2010-12-08 00:17:10 +0000 UTC]

I was reading it online, but unfortunately, it ran out of chapters right before Bakura and Malik meet. I am not kidding when I say it was literally right before they met. I nearly broke my computer...(yep, Angstshipping is Ryou/Malik )

When anything ever makes DBZ characters look relevantly normal, you know that the fabric of space and time has just been ripped.
