This is one of my favorite photos by Brian.
The costume is Myoubi from the manga series "Alichino", and I made this back in 2002!
Myoubi wears way too many gorgeous outfits to choose a favorite from, so I decided to take elements from various designs and combine them into one single costume. Inspired by the melancholy premise of the story, I made a burgundy/gold gothic Lolita doll dress and bird wings. Most of the costume required working without a pattern, and I learned a lot about gathering ruffles, making feather wings, and working with different textures. The main dress is made of an incredible two-sided French Shantung, for the complimenting parts I used Casa Lace and Crepe back gold Satin. My favorite element would have to be the lace-up sleeves.

alichino is such a beautiful manga ! I always wanted to make a cosplay from them but I never did - Niw I finally bought a wig for it ^.^But I guess my face just does not fit in the perfect world from alichino, so maybe I think about really making it...

That manga is probably my favorite. Interesting plot and gorgeous gorgeous art. Though there hasn't been a new volume in years! I hope the artist's hand is healed. I'd heard that it'd been injured. Though, the artist did do the cover of the Labyrinth manga.
