Thank you!! I can send you some of the film if you like? Could you email dog@neoncreativestudios.co.uk
=]

If you would be okay with it, I would like to use your rendered shot as it is. If I had the 3D model then I would definately want to use your model for different parts of the film...i.e various establishing shots, but if you don't have it thats fine!

Dont worry about it, i only made it to practice on some stuff i learned on my internship so use it in any way you like as long as im credited for it

Alright, i have the HD-version up on Deviantart or on the vimeo link and this version of the file is as good as the version on my harddrive as i put a lot of effort into makin a good almost lossless compression despite the small filesize.

When goin down doin a season in the alps its not really optimal to drag my big ass 3d-computer rig all the way down so well, sorry to not be able to provide you with the model..

Anyway, iยดll be sending my email-adress to your mail.

Take care for now!

p.s I will be submitting the film to a film festival and you will be credited

Woow, gee. thanks mate! dont really know what to say Iยดve been away from deviantart for at time now as ive been in the alps skiing.

To see a comment like this after such a long time is always warming

The shot i could probably donate but the models would be a bit harder as im only having my non-3d laptop with me down here.

Anyway, please tell me more, im interested!

Woof, this is amazing! I am making a no budget sci-fi film please check out the trailer: [link]

Would you consider donating the shot & model to the film? The buildings are perfect for what I have in mind!!

im going to start off by saying nice renders i like the water. what did you use to make the water?

did you use city gen to make some of those building in the back ground some of them look like city gen building.

also did you use motion blur at all?

anyway nice renders came out good.

Thanks mate

and it might look like it but all the buildings in the back are both modelled and placed by hand, a little tedious but i wanted a certain look for the cityscape.

the water was very easy to make. I used a MIA material with an animated fractal in the bump, experiment a little bit with the settings and it will turn out great!

For motion blur i unlocked some hidden production shaders, mainly the mip_motionblur. It only takes a second extra per frame to render and its editable in post. Great stuff!

on never heard of that way of motion blur though i still like the idea of the motion vector. .. so the water is kinda like that water shader you get that you can like apply to plains and stuff never tried it came out good though.

That way is pretty unknown as the production shaders still are in the beta face and therefore must be unlocked. motion vector works good as well, although i prefer the mip because of its speed.

well, i have never used the water shader to be honest, for some reason i always find other ways that i find better to use

oh okay cool well it sounds like an interesting way to do motion blur.

well you can make something that looks like the water shader with noise and stuff im sure or even some kinda of displacement

nice! how long did it take to render this?

did you use posteffect for the lens flare?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

YaYaDawg In reply to Grayfoxdie [2010-10-31 17:00:22 +0000 UTC]

Thanks

It took about 10-15 minutes per frame to render on a PC Octa-core CPU with 24gb ram. The scene consisted of 450 frames so it took a while ^^
