Granny Smith always has wild tales to tell...and one includes the legend of ponies who adapted to living in water...turning into Sea Ponies. Traveling to a nearby great lake, Granny Smith and her great-granddaughter Candy Apple...plus her two best friends...have discovered that the legends were true.
The Sea Ponies are based off the Greek Mythology creatures known as Hippocampus...and are a vast improvement over the Generation 1 counterparts.

Actually, the word "siren" describes a group of female creatures whose singing attracted sailors and caused them to sail into dangerous water or toward rocks, meanwhile sea ponies are... well... sea ponies.
Contrary to sirens, theseΒ creatures are both male and female and they're not dangerous.
