Description This is a Houndoom Sculpture, based on the character from Pokemon, I was commissioned to make for someone's Christmas gift last year.

The sculpture is completely handmade out of polymer clay with metal armature for added strength, and painted with acrylics. The sculpture itself is about 2 inch tall and is standing on a hand crafted wooden base. The stand is made out of charred wood and the sculpture is removable.

I really liked how my Pidgeotto Sculpture turned out, especially with the real wood base, I decided to make another Poke-Sculpture with a similar feel. Both were pretty challenging, but the larger scale and freedom for the pose made them feasible. I am personally quite pleased with how this little guy turned out and I can't wait to make more sculptures that blur the line between our world and the PokeWorld!

Sculptures like this, as well as many other pieces can be commissioned by me. Check out my online store here: [link] or feel free to send me an e-mail at YellerCrakka@yahoo.com if you're interested in anything.

My i ask where you get the clay and metal armature and if you have to bake it in the oven? also with the metal armature do you shape it in to the animal/pokemon that you are making? this is such a lovely piece of work and iv'e always wanted to try my hand at it!

YellerCrakka In reply to ChibiKawaiiKoneko [2012-03-22 11:28:37 +0000 UTC]

Sure thing, I get my clay at craft stores like Michaels, and the armature I actually use old wire clothes hangers. I bend the wire into like a skeleton of the Pokemon, then sculpt the clay around it. Hope that helps!

Thank you very much, that's one of the reasons I like making larger sculptures like this, so I can really focus on the details more. ^_^

I bet. I wish I knew how to sculpt. I am just now getting into "modeling" crafts I guess you can say, with perler/melty beads

YellerCrakka In reply to UmbreLink [2011-06-20 05:25:29 +0000 UTC]

I love perler bead crafts, a lot of people do really cool things with them, I don't have the patience to work with them myself, but I've bought a few completed pieces at conventions before. I just like how you can make really neat, real life 8-bit items with them, I wish you the best of luck, and if you ever want to do an art trade once you get more experience with it, just let me know! ^_^

For me they don't take too long and they are alot of fun ^^

I need to upload my latest ones which are a Triforce set. It's 3 triforces but in the middle of each one it is either red, blue, or green, to stand for each goddess ^^

And I would love to do that once I get better. Having a piece of your art would be awesome ^^

That tail looked like a pain to sculpt @.@

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

YellerCrakka In reply to KaidaTheDragon [2010-05-05 06:51:11 +0000 UTC]

The hardest parts were actually the bones, it's hard to keep them even, but the tail was pretty hard because it has metal armature, and you know how I always whine about that, hehe.

KaidaTheDragon In reply to YellerCrakka [2010-05-05 17:30:12 +0000 UTC]

Very lovely, the detail on it is perfect as always.
The wood base really gives it a rugged feel. Which is just perfect for the subject.

Are you willing to make another of this one?

i really like it and i know someone that would really like this too.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

YellerCrakka In reply to Plush-Drops [2010-04-21 03:07:25 +0000 UTC]

I can make another Houndoom, but I'd prefer to make it in a different pose, just so I'm not making the exact same sculpture twice.

If you're ever interested in one, or any other Pokemon, just send me a Note and I can give you price quotes. (I am out of town right now though, so I might not be able to reply right away.)

Plush-Drops In reply to YellerCrakka [2010-04-21 08:24:40 +0000 UTC]

Thats find about it being in a different pose as long as its Houndoom.

If your able to let me know before i send a note cause i don't want to cause too much trouble
