PJ groaned. He was bored. He padded down the hallway to Chris' room where he was filming some sort of creepy Santa video.
"Chris!" PJ called.
"Just a sec, PeeJ!" yelled the slightly nasal voice from inside the room. The door was flung open to reveal Chris in a Santa hat and jacket and boxer shorts, his face covered in fake blood with a box of crabsticks in one hand and a plastic knife in the other. PJ had a second to take it all in before Chris threw himself at the stunned boy and they went down with the squishing sound that crabsticks make when they hit the floor.
"To what do I owe the honor?" grinned Chris his Santa hat askew and his "bloodstained" face inches from PJ's.
PJ's heart started to race and not just because he had been knocked flat on his ass. He had really started to like the brown-eyed boy who was now lying on him.
"Ummm…" he finally managed, "I thought we might go skating."
"PeeJ, you know I can't skate," said Chris.
"I could teach you," begged PJ his greenish eyes shining, "And I'll buy you hot chocolate, just PLEASE, I'm soooo boooored!"
It was a combination of those eyes and the promise of hot chocolate that saw Chris tottering out onto the ice half and hour later.
PJ easily and gracefully skated out onto the ice and did a double turn before skating back towards Chris. Chris scowled at his best mate and took the chance to admire his friend's beautiful figure (he had known he had liked PJ for a while it was to bad that boy was straight because he was the hottest, nicest boy Chris knew). Chris was not looking where he was going and suddenly his skates slipped out from under him and he found himself on his butt.
PJ saw Chris fall and skated over lifting the boy by his armpits.
"Come on," said PJ quietly taking Chris' hand gently, "Let me teach you to skate."
Chris didn't fall again. He learned how to deal with the clumsy skates, all while holding the hand of the most beautiful boy in the world.
Over the loud speakers the delicate tones of white Christmas began to play.
PJ pulled Chris to the middle and tugged him into a dance position. They swayed back and forth on the ice.
"I'm dreaming of a white Christmas," sang PJ and right on cue it began to snow.
"Mmmmmm," sighed Chris as he buried his face in PJ's lapel.
"Hey, Chris," said PJ after a moment, "I really like you and…"
Chris silenced him with a soft peck on the lips, "I like you too," he finished.
PJ leaned down to kiss the brown-eyed boy again but Chris pulled away, "No more kissing till I get my hot chocolate!" he cried over his shoulder. PJ laughed and skated after him over ice that was just starting to be covered in snow.
