Description
The YAV-1 is a sphere-shaped Light Tank developed and used by all armed forces of Ymirest. Production of the vehicle started in Late May of 2111 and was adopted by the Ymirestian military on June 8th, 2112. The vehicle was inspired by the mysterious Kugelpanzer, a tank of similar design developed by Nazi Germany during the Second World War. This vehicle never saw combat and both its year of construction and intended use are unknown.

The YAV-1 first saw action during the Battle of the Sleeping Forest and was used throughout the Enclave-Consor War on Ymirest (2101 - 2145). Out of all the other armored vehicles used at the time, this one is the only vehicle from the Enclave-Consor War Era to still be in active service by the military today.

This tank was also given the following nicknames: The Metal Pillbug. The Armadillo. The Sphere of Doom. The Kamikaze Ball because of a self-destruct system it has that can either be activated manually or after a predetermined countdown sequence. And the Suicide Tank because the chances of getting killed while operating this tank during a battle is sometimes very high due to its shape atracting enemies and its high vulnerability to superior armored vehicles and anti-armor weapons.

This variant of the tank is fitted with two TZMGs (Taifun's Zorn Maschinengewehr) on each of the vehicle's sides. These guns are powerful enough to rip through M1 Abrams tank armor and is useful against enemy aircraft, making this tank an effective mobile AA (Anti-Air) vehicle.

The YAV-1/A5 is the most used and favored variant of the vehicle by the Ymirestian military.

Also known as the YAV-1 Punch (Author's Note: Schlagen is German for 'punch'.), this variant of the Light Tank is stripped of its machine guns and fitted with two 48 mm guns on each side instead. This was done to increase the fire power of armored support on the battlefield, but this variant of the YAV-1 had critical problems. One of them being that its speed was drastically decreased due to the added weight from the 48 mm guns' ammunition, is too expensive to massly produce, and is way too dangerous for friendly soldiers to be near during a battle.
