Description
Gobiraptor minutus is a species of oviraptorid from the Nemegt Formation of Mongolia, having lived some 72-70 million years ago in the Late Cretaceous period. It is estimated to have measured 2,6 meters long as an adult, despite the holotype belonging to a much smaller juvenile specimen, and it was a small ground-dwelling dinosaur adapted for a durophagous diet, like seeds and possibly mollusks too. It is the first undisputable basal oviraptorid genus in the Nemegt Formation.
