Ep.08: Fire and Fury

In the wake of a very hot summer, the forest is quietly and obliviously striked by a ever-growing forest fire. These are dangerous waves of flames and smoke that burn and suffocate any unwary animal. This wall of flames has gotten too close to the young Brontosaurus creche. Berna already feels the intense heat and does her best to stay away and avoid nasty burns on her delicate scaly skin. The ankylosaur Gargoyleosaurus parkpinorum doesn't seem to be any better. Its heavy armour slows down this fat herbivore, but he is being left behind at the mercy of the catastrophe that burned its territory.
Forest fires are indeed rare in these luxuous Jurassic forests. But they do happen, and dinosaurs need to be one step ahead from these disasters. Fortunetly, only one casualty has been observed on the creche after the fire, one heavily injured male was left behind in agony and, after the fire is gone, the juvenile was left to die in the ash. The survival of the fittest, that's the reality of this world. Berna is hanging on still, like all of her comrades that will eventually reach to the adulthood... not so much of a truth for those who will see their demise in their infancy.
