Double meaning!I'm indignant about Jade's alternate costume xd.
So when I saw this I imagined how it'd look like when using artes... mmyes I know, I have to grow up!
Firstly I watched Tales of the Abyss as an anime. I liked Jade a lot.
But then I got the us version of the game (because it didn't came out in Europa) and man, his english voice... Seriously he looks like he's the type of guy who is walking near the shools and proposing candies to young girls o_O. It's breaking all the character.
Isn't there a way to switch to japanese voices in that game? (ahahah)

I happen to like Jade's holier-then-thou voice in English. Hilarious comic though...but I couldn't help but notice...Guy is TOUCHING Tear...he's TOUCHING a woman. O_o

actually, by the time you learn indignation, i think that you would've passed the part where Guy overcomes his trauma

Unless you're lazy like I am and you play the game with 10x the experience.
Though really, I play Abyss for it's awesome story, characters and mini games. The battle system is fun, but I just love not worrying about having to train.

Yeah, I'm lazy. Don't get me wrong, I worked my ASS off the first, and second, time I played this game. But once you have all the titles and the capacity cores set, I'm to lazy to start all over, especially when I play for the story. So I go 10X experience and play on hard mode.

I actually forgot to play after events the first 2 times so I have to do it the 3rd time... To bad I forgot something I cannot get back to >.<
I just once want to see where their highest level is to get all the Artes
For my 2nd playthough I've chosen 2x experience and when fighting Nebelim I got really LUCKY. Stole the capacy core with the first try and survived the whole battle SOMEHOW.
And actually with every playthough it makes more sense.. and even MORE sense! One reason more to love this game.

I just love how it takes stereotypical and tired cliches, and puts a realistic and original spin on them!

Luke and Tear are my FAVORITE couple EVER! Because they're SO awesome! I could go on and on gushing about both of them. My philosophy is that if I have to like a couple, I have to like both characters on their own. Luke goes through so much and becomes a better person, he's so relatable and I respect his determination and growth. And Tear? I HATE it when the girl in the relationship is this perfect, precious, innocent little princess mary-sue. Not only is Tear a badass who never needs rescuing, a woman with actual flaws and determination, but she's exactly what Luke needs. Someone with a clear mind, who can put him on the right path and help him grow, yet give him just enough attention so that it doesn't go to his head. And Luke is what she needs. Someone naive and more idealistic then her to show her the light side of things that her upbringing couldn't.

And I agree with every single word you said there. Couples are perfect for each other when they both help each other grow: Luke helping Tear get in touch with her emotions more and her admitting her limits; while Tear helping Luke mature throughout the game. Not that Luke surprises her with his own mature philosophy later on in the game xD

Yeah, they would make a great team, (great parents too). They balance and complement each other. Plus they are both strong, independent spirits on their own. They just complete each other. What I like about this couple the most is that they are equal. While Luke may not be as experienced a fighter as Tear, in terms of the relationship itself, they both treat each other very maturely. I hate it when it's okay for the girl to physically abuse the guy and get away with it. Or when it's okay for the boy to emotionally hurt the girl because he's a bad boy with a hard past and she's there to change him and make him see the error of his ways and all those ridiculous cliches.
What I love about this couple is they are new, they are fresh! They COMMUNICATE! While they may not communicate their feelings, mostly out of shyness, they support and teach each other and TELL EACH OTHER when one hurts the other. They are not afraid to talk to each other about their trials together and how they view each other because of them. Luke tells Tear that while he understood that she was trying to help him feel better, she could have phrased it more nicely. And Tear doesn't get butthurt or read too much into it, she takes the constructive criticism and the next time she supports him, you can see that she learned from his advice. Tear doesn't let Luke get away with all his nonsense, she tells him straight up that he's being immature, instead of blindly loving and forgiving him like most lovesick teenagers do. This is so good for him. As we've seen with Van and Guy, being indulgent with Luke as led him to be selfish and crude. Tear, on the other hand, supports him when he's down, smiles at him when he does right, and lets him have it when he's being immature while Luke brings out her compassionate and maternal nature.
Despite the fact that they are both teens, they act more mature and have a healthier relationship then over half of all the anime/game romances I've seen. Usually, the girls immediately scream and jump around nervously from anything remotely romantic, while the boys treat the ladies like crap and then get affectionate out of nowhere, and these are the same guys that have hoards of fangirls both in and outside the show. The girls are overemotional crybabies, or one dimensional pure mary-sues that have every fan gushing love for them because "SHE ACCEPTS HIM FOR WHO HE IS" when really these girls are too passive and flawless to complain about the guy's nature. Tear is NONE of that. She accepts Luke's good side AND his flaws. She loves him for his redeeming qualities, and she doesn't need constant special attention from him to fall in love with him. She loves him for the goodness she sees in him. Luke loves Tear for her loyalty, bravery, and because she challenges him to be a better person, not blindly following him and feeling pity for him, or because she's pure and innocent and wants to change him. He fell in love with her because she treated him like an adult, while at the same time, supported him like a friend.
This is why I believe more then anything when (not if, he DOES COME BACK) Luke came back at the end, and the two of them began dating, they would make one HELL of a power couple. The best couples are those that are healthy and stable long before the relationship has formed, because they already have a strong framework to stand upon. When a relationship has problems before the couple marries or gets together officially, that relationship won't last. Luke and Tear would stay together forever because they communicate their problems, they lean toward each other for support, and freely offer it when needed, as well as have a strong bond as friends.
This is the BEST written couple I've EVER seen in a game. Hell this is the best couple I've seen ever. I will go down with this ship!
