Once this city used to pulse with energy—dirty and dangerous, but alive and wonderful. The changes came slowly at first. The authorities said the constant monitoring was for the greater good. But good isn't the same as right.

In a city where information is heavily monitored, agile couriers called Runners operate via the rooftops and skyways to transport sensitive data away from prying eyes. Normally, the cops leave us alone; they've got bigger fish to fry. Now, things have changed. Something is happening. They've taken my sister, framed her for a crime she did not commit. And now they're hunting me. But just because I don't have a weapon does not mean I can't fight back.

They thought they wiped away all the grittiness and humanity that this city ever had. I'm going to show them that they missed a spot. -- Faith Connors
