Description Antique advertising postcard
Photochrome era, circa 1960's
Klutz press, Palo Alto, CA

"TriChem, Partners in Progress through Chemicals"

Happy housewives of Pleasant Valley creating decorative thingamabobs - They all answered their lady pal's invite postcard:

 A Tri-Chem Party there's to be

Of Course you're invited

So note the time, the place and date

Please come, I'd be delighted

P.S. Bring your friends

Liquid embroidery! At one point everybody and their aunt was doing this, or so it seemed. Home parties were how the company introduced the product to new customers. The hostess would receive a commission, just like Tupperware or Avon parties. Only at a Tri-Chem party, everyone got to make something and take it home. This company is still around today, but their sales pitch no longer waxes poetic about how groovy chemicals are.

I have a Christmas Tree skirt one of my relatives made in the 60s. It's held up pretty well.

Well, now I'm curious. I used to do tons of embroidery but I'd never heard of this.
