This motel is the only place I've ever seen "Muzak" advertised as an amenity!

Fun Fact: The word Muzak has been a registered trademark since December 21, 1954 of Muzak LLC, although it dominated the market for so many years that the term is often used as a generic term for all background music.

Still There? - NO

The word motel was coined in California in 1925, as a portmanteau contraction of "motor hotel".
Motels are designed to accommodate motorists, and in many cases of single-level motor lodges, have parking spaces placed directly outside each tenant's room.
As large highway systems began to be developed in the 1920s, long-distance road journeys became more common, and the need for inexpensive, easily accessible overnight accommodation sites close to the main routes led to the growth of the motor lodge concept.
