Description
This was part of a pitch in 2014 for an MTG-esque Naruto card game. The visual style would thus be painterly/three-dimensional, so especially now I can see how severely lacking my art was (which is why I think the pitch didn’t go through). I didn’t completely internalize until recently that there are rules for commercial fantasy art: theatrical rather than naturalistic light, a crap-load of details, and three-dimensional instead of flat. I’ve been reworking some pieces to bring them in line with these rules, but I still need to improve a lot. Yay for learning experiences.
