Wading through my enormous backlog of costumes and photos to try and knock back some of the list. Hoo boy...

This year I had the amazing honour of representing Melbourne as a finalist in the Madman Cosplay Championship 2011 in Brisbane at Supanova. Unfortunately, due to real-ife issues and commitments, I was unable to use my first idea for costume, instead opting for something a lot simpler and faster to make, but that I still loved.

For my finals costume I cosplayed Lillet Blan from the amazing game GrimGrimoire, done by Vanillaware and Nippon Ichi. The entire costume, props, backdrops and performance took me a total of two months to make, which, unfortunately, was all I was able to spare. Regardless, I was happy with the results, and I still did something I loved.

This happy little chap (affectionately nicknamed 'Sauron') was the Sorcery grimoire Chaos Nest, which I used in my performance to summon the Dragon. It's made using a hardcover book bought from a charity store, which I then hollowed out manually for easier transportation. The details on the front are hand-sculpted using a micture of sculpy and glue. Then to finish it off, it was given multiple coats of paint and sealer, and the finer details hand-painted in 24-carat gold (because I am crazy like that).

And here is a sneak peek at my costume on stage during my performance with my hand-made light-up wand! Yay!
