I wouldn't recommend the site I bought my cosplay from anymore because it's ripped multiple times and I've pretty much re-made it myself.

i thought it was a good idea at first but then i realized it wasn't so im not going through with it. i thought it would b better than fake peircings cause they would stay in place better. so your saying it would be better to just make it?? but yours looked really good! some that i have seen looked real cheap and crappy, and isn't it hard to sew pleather?
atleast i didnt think of making a real scar like kau's i seen someone say that on some blog or something that they wanted a real scar like his maybe he/she is a real masochist...

It's not a good idea at all. Never mutilate your body for a cosplay.
It may look good, but I pretty much remade the entire thing. And if you think others look cheap and/or crappy, then don't let your own look like that. Another cosplayer doesn't dictate how your own cosplay is going to be.

if it was cos00 I highly recommended it, but you will need to make adjustments.
