No, you have to be on good terms but not overly attached, because that may impair your judgement in life threatening situations, in which you might suddenly save your partner instead for example a family of 5 or in the Special Forces even a group of a hundred or more people. That's the real danger. Of course if you are a very logical thinker and can stay rational even in those situations, go ahead, make out with your partner in secret for all your superiors will care, but it's still risky. There is a reason these rules exist.

yeah well of course you need to be on good terms but if you notice that it won't worl out with your partner you'll probably go complain. And to be honest that makes sense, too many people forget rationality and logic during panic
