Gah, the folds, they conspired against me! But I mostly won.Rakka and Reki from Haibane Renmei.
Pose based on this stock image by =PersephoneStock . Like the photo, more intended as a sisterly thing than a shippery thing.
At first played with placing Rakka right, since she is reaching out to Reki, but reconsidered. It's Reki asking whether she is worth trust, yet at the same time she's leaning on Rakka.

Been wanting to comment on this way earlier, but I tend to forget stuff like commenting when my mind is occupied. >_>
I absolutely adore the detail in the folds and how real the hands look, working with a ref definitely pays of. : ) Too bad that the simplicity of the background forms such a huge contrast with the detail in the girls, especially since you usually make pretty detailed environments.
But still, the atmosphere of the whole drawing is really nice.

Yeah, I slacked off on the background completely : there were meant to be trees, a forest of sorts, but I was so frustrated by that time I just wanted it finished

I think of them as more of a sisterly thing... I can NOT see them as a shipping. At all. xD;; I love Reki; she's my favorite character. The only shipping I ship in Haibane Renmei is Reki x Hyoko.

Agreed. Even though visually they seem to have the archetypal onee-sama/imoto look, Reki/Rakka as a romantic pairing ...just ...doesn't work for me. Ever. ^.~;

I try my best with the sub-categories because one thing I found when looking through favs was that I had no idea what I was looking at so I felt it best to sub-categories my own so people can find things.
