Quite a while ago, I filled out a fluff meme and a bunch of people requested that I work out this doodle into a full image, which as usual took me ages to get around to.The doodle was the reply to the question about shipping wishes, and I wanted a happy ending for Fakir and Ahiru, which for starters involves turning Ahiru back into a human.

I liked the ending too, actually. It would have been less effective if she had gotten her dream, after all, the message is that you can't get every dream come true, so just give up on the unattainable ones and pursue one that is within one's reach.

I would seriously recommend watching this show some time, even if you don't like the Magical Girl genre. It's beautiful, tragic, has excellent characters and takes a few nice twists. This image spoils half the ending though.

Yay! You drew Ahiru so beautifully~ I love how her hair shows her transition from being a duck. And the shading is great!
I wanted her to have a happier ending too, but I'm also a bit of a sucker for bittersweet endings. And besides, it's not like being a duck is the end of the world~ At least she didn't disappear forever in a spark of light, which was my biggest fear for the ending of the series. O_o'
