My submission for Resin-Aperture 's June 2014 Challenge - Warm and Cool Tones .

Ever since I found Photoshop's Curves Adjustment, I have been able to play with the tones of my pictures. An interesting thing I learned from my fooling around is that, every color has its own warm and cool tone. While it is true that the wheel is divided into the warm half and the cool half, in the real world when these colors are represented in shades you can actually play with a property: their shadows.

Like here, in the Madame's picture, while she is obviously wearing a red dress and red lipstick on a bright red background, the expected overall warm tone is countered by all the shadows having a decidedly blue tint. And the resulting tone is not neutral at all, rather an eerie and untouchable coldness. ^_^
