IRL as in videogames, I'm really respectful of my surroundings because I believe everything is in its place for some reason - which is having way too much faith in humanity, because usually, they don't.It just didn't occur to me right away that the reason the portal gun was there was for me to just take it away.

Fallout 3 and NV changes that idea.
If its not bolted down, its free for the taking ... as long as nobodies sees you, in which case you can always offer them a few bullets.
