OC stuff, i get that this may be confusing and difficult to follow as there is so much information, especially with the first image of the universe. But at least here you can see How Ultiers and Vultures look like.
Since Ferrians and Ultiers are related there are still some similarities between them.
Ultiers & Vultures

Ultiers
were a group from the original race of Ferrians, Agelians and Ultiers belonged to. That separated themselves like the others, and found a new solar system to inhabit after a peace treaty between the groups.
They were basically pissed at the Ferrians seeing them as the original disruptors of the culture/society, and that they were to blame that the world were basically wrecked in the end.
So even after the peace treaty they plotted ways to get back at the Ferrians.
Ferrians settled in a system that had already been inhabited years ago, the planet that became the Ferrians home world still had remains from the previous inhabitants. A space station that surrounded the planet as well as some cities.
Ultiers eventually attacked the Ferrians home world (Ylem). But were forced back into the unknown space after Agelians came to Ferrians aid.

Vultures
The race they all came from had certain powers, telekinetic and so forth. Some of the stuff that produced that stuff could be seen on their outer skin, like some blue crystal growth.
Ultiers slowly lost them, for reasons they didn’t quite know. Mutation/evolution…
But that ain’t entirely true. Ferrians developed a biological weapon during the last war to aim at the Ultiers that they would become powerless. It didn’t work as planned. The process was slow.
Trying to preserve the powers, Ultiers instigated some segregation, those without powers could only mate with those like themselves. At times those people would give birth to Ultiers with the crystals, but for some reason they were “fucked" up. And were usually killed off.
This was actually a side effect of the weapon the Ferrians created.
Ultiers eventually found a way to control the Vultures and used them as a weapon.
Vultures are very much inspired by the Reapers in Serenity. They are voilent, mad and do horrendous things to their victims.
It was a way for Ultiers to remain hidden, while they sent the Vultures out into space to unleash their rage.

Eitir
Eitir is the guy on top there, he is a very very old Ultier. He is the one who found out why they lost their powers and the reason for the Vultures, and a way to use them. He got so caught up on his work that he worked out a way to clone himself and transfer his knowledge to the new body. So when i say he’s old i’d say his memory is, his body ain’t.

His hate for the Ferrians his drive.
And he is the author/creator of the true plot to the story.
He created Zethymir (got “daddy’s" eyes and hair color.), and in a way created Mika.
He’s like this background noise in the story, hardly see him but he’s in a way hinted at in different ways through the story. Then later on we see him more and more, but still as this shadowy figure that you should get a bad feeling from.
