Description Spider/squid-like. Could possibly have even more legs. Inspired by talking with ~theninjaomelet , she knows why. xD

I've named this robot type a skittersquid or spidersquid. Sorry the picture is so crooked, my photoediting program on this computer won't let me fix it.

I imagine these to be based on small repair drones designed after spiders (like the pipecrawlers) but were mega-sized and turned into killing machines. I would imagine that they ought to have even more legs than this but that would be a lot less realistic despite looking hella cool.
Because it has four legs and two mandible-arms on each side its moment patterns would be like spiders in general, however I think that they would be able to use as few as three legs/arms if a tricky situation required it. This also means that cutting off one's legs will not slow it down much!
The arc on the center-front of the body is actually a collection of the robot's eyes, some serve different purposes (infrared, radiation levels, etc.) while others are visible-light only. I suppose the outer band is visible-light and the inner band is special-use. The two bands rotate separately from each other
and the three active "eyes" (two visible-light, one special-use) are visible though the opening at the base of the front shield.
When resting, all appendages retract into the body, which then closes off at the base. The best time to attack a spidersquid is when it is just beinging to open and put out its legs- that is when the interior is vulnerable through the base opening (outer shell is very very tough) but none of the blade-bearing parts are usable because they are still retracted and are last to come out- now isn't that convenient when this is the hardest thing to kill around?

I dunno if they're waterproof, but maybe, if they have squid in their name? Maybe they straighten and undulate their legs to swim?

I promise to do a really really nice version of this eventually. (:
