Lared Leto is also one of my favorite, he is so talented! musician, actor, songwriter, and director...so perfect. not to mention he has a rocking body *day dreams* 30 seconds to mars definitely one of my favorite rock bands, go pick up their albums and watch their new video A Beautiful Lie!!graphite 6B pencil

This has to be one of the best drawings of Jared I have seen yet. You really managed to capture not only his facial features but also his personality as well. A serious expression with the slightest hint of a smile. Well done.

Out of all your pieces, this is the strongest one in your entire gallery. Absolutely beautiful values going on in his face and I love the contrast of the background against his shirt.
Is this on watercolor paper also? I haven't tried that yet, but is there a reason you have a preference for it? I do notice you do a lot of your work on it lol.
I just started trying out charcoal... At first I didn't like it but the fact that you can just get such dramatic value changes is amazing 
From the beginning to now in your gallery it's very easy to see you are improving!

Oh I think this is the longest comment I've ever gotten! haha thank you very much. I didnt expect the Jared Leto piece turn out as good as it did considering I've never drawn man before (the beard looked pretty challenging)...but everything went smoothly so I was happy.
This, actually, wasnt on watercolor paper. It was this cardboard like paper...smoother than watercolor paper. I like paper with texture because I'm not a big fan of very smooth & soft drawings. I like my drawings with intense values and texture ^^
Yea, I love charcoal cause its so dark! and usually faster than pencil. The downside is that its messy, easy to smudge, and...dont erase (especially on textured paper).
I'm sure you'll improve a lot, just keep practicing. My gallery is basically manga/anime (13 years old) -> photoshop (15 years old) -> traditional art (17 years old). haha

Yeah, sorry to make the comment so long >< lol. Are you talking about bristol? I haven't tried it on bristol or watercolor,... so that's my next attempt I suppose haha. Please keep up with the traditional art! You are doing great with it, and altogether a good grasp on realism helps you draw anything really. I'd say for your first male portrait this is great

I was in China (teaching english and just..having fun hehe) for a month and a half, so I didnt draw anything. I will start drawing again! very soon ^^
