Image with close up's:The Qilin / Kirin (Chinese: 麒麟; pinyin: qílín; Wade–Giles: ch'i-lin) is a mythical hooved Chinese chimerical creature known throughout various East Asian cultures. It is said to appear with the imminent arrival or passing of a wise sage or an illustrious ruler. It is a good omen that brings serenity and fortune.
This is my entry for the Phoenix Dream "Creature contest".
I though it was definitely a nice challenge in portraying creatures I have never drawn before :')
For those who are interested, check it out! It's a very friendly group and I think this contest might be exciting for some of you! Besides the prizes are really nice as well! *smiles*

this just took my breath away~
I've never seen a kirin like this, it's body is almost like flowing water, and the crystal-like glow emanating from it's body gives the picture such a celestial feel. The lighting and effects are gorgeous, and I am just blown away by how beautiful it is~
I wish I could figure more to say, but I'm rather speechless at the moment

Yeh I'm really into mythology <3 I guess its my greekness coming out.
(yesh ish greek I didn't mean geek though I'm that too ) I dunno I think I just love Qilins as they are so many different versions of them, some more dragony than others and its nice to see something beautiful and gentle have some kind of darkness behind it.
