The problem with this picture is that the woman looks like a giant compared to that track. She looks like she could just stand up and the train would just travel under her legs and she wouldn't be harmed.

It's a classic peril scene... and one where the victim is usually rescued at the last second... in cartoons anyway

In classic cartoons, the damsel is tied along the tracks, it's highly illogical and can be fictitiously laughed at, if we take this as a peril of reason [And I don't] then someone could in fact get caught like this and would have to move to the side and pray that there are no parts of the wheel that descend low enough to *ahem* damage the foot. With the look of the train, I say she's got a good chance if she can calm down and move off the track, exposing her inner foot to danger in hopes that the train will pass by and the latch will release in due time for another train to pass in a different direction

I will admit that tied to the tracks is more common in the classic stuff, but having one's foot trapped and requiring rescue before an oncoming train arrives has been used a lot too.
