How long did it take you to scratch (or what ever you call the method of making this kind of art) this wonderful piece of artwork? I am simply curious. It looks like it may have taken you quite a while?

Welcome to DA mate, looking forward to see your traditional art
It took a few weeks give or take, it usually depends on how detailed
I want my work to be
Thank you very much for the comment!!

Well, according to the definition of fractal....lol and if you have a minute to check out my gallery you will see some similar things made with a fractal generator and more to come. Fractals are simply mathematical formulas that describe natural things. Thanks!

I have checked out your gallery the other day,
and I also know the definition of fractal.
But, the human's mind doesn't able to calculate
the formulas on its own without using an hybrid (A program),
and since my piece is Traditional, and lack the rules of symmetry,
it can't be fractal. That's what I meant
I have nothing against fractal art, personally I find it stunning
and very intriguing alike

Oh I see your point! I don't mean to disagree at all but fractals have been hand drawn for millenia before computers came along. Here's a cool video I just watched with some of the actual math guys who wrote the formulae - [link] - it's really cool and shows the huge connection with humans, nature and fractals. One main point I was already familiar with - once you become aware of fractals, you start seeing them everywhere - because they ARE everywhere! In my favourites are some other traditional artists who make fractals by hand as well as photogs who take pics of them - loads of those on Flickr too. So no offence - I'm liking your stuff a lot and thanks so much for your support!

Offense was NOT taken hun, I'm merely converting with you
And when I think about it, I said that the human's mind isn't able to calculate
the formulas on its own without using an hybrid (A program), Well it's kinda stupid
because human's where the ones to create the formula
But what I meant was, that Fractal work depends on symmetry, just like the Rorschach stain
for example. And my work, as complex and weird as it is, still lack the symmetry
I watched the video, thanks for sharing!

Very intriguing piece. In contrast with the title, I get a sense of loneliness and emptiness. Is this representing globalisation in any way and the effect on lives and traditions?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Yoni-Danziger In reply to Lannytorres [2011-09-30 23:53:28 +0000 UTC]

It depends really, this piece for example is a triptych (three pieces in one)
this one took me about a month of work (Not daily, 35 to 50 hours)
Most pieces that I make though takes between 10 hours to 20 (average time two to three weeks)
