Personally, I love the shocking-ness of the red. It creates a really interesting contrast between color and the black and white.

the expression on her face is incredible. no matter how my eyes move to her barely clothed body, they are always drawn back to her eyes and mouth. and the blood and beating heart are disturbing and it contrasts beautifully with the serene expression on her face.

The strong, bold, and contrasting color really drew me to this. I especially love the way the color of her skin and dress meld with the bright red and stark black and white of the background.
