The process creating animation for the GRIS game  www.grisgame.com/

I made the animation and the incredible Conrad Roset made the clean up. I’ve been working with them for 3 months doing the main animations for the protagonist. The experience of working with such talented people has been a blast!

Hi! I was browsing internet for references for my own animation and found your. It is totally different than this what I needed, but I really liked it and it inspired me to something else ^____^. So thanks! A good job on this!

Yeah, I'm just total newbie in animation, and I make my own indie game just myself, I can program, design and draw but I had to learn animation and composing music. I was unable to achieve what I wanted with animation and then I found your art and I realized that I don't need to animate whole character for idle animation, every her breath ect, I just can more stylize her just like you did, by moving gently her hair or clothes, so despite it's totally different style you gave me a useful tip and inspired me ^___^. Thank you for your wishes. I'm trying to do my best!

Wow! Programming, designing and drawing is pretty impresive already, but on top of that, animation and music composition? Wow, that's amazing!

Yep, animation is full of little tricks like that. And videogame animation is even fuller of little tricky tricks! If you have any doubt or question, just ask! I'm no expert, but I know a thing or two XD

Keep up the good work and best luck!

I like being independent. If price of that is learning all that stuff I can do it. I have great fun learning new things . But of course I can't spend that much time to each to master it, but reaching satisfying level is enough. For example my graphics are avarage, but enough to make easy game with that, the same about programming. As long as I can creat final product with my skills myself, as long I don't need to be perfect in any of these skills . But it's still fun polishing the so I do. Last ime for example I decided to learn playing the piano to enrich my compositions (I compose the music, but I don't know the notes ^^') and after these 2 months my knowlenge about music significally increased (and as side effect I can play few easy songs from notes ^^).

In video games animation key thing is performace (at least in my case). Web games I create can't be heavy... Frame animation gives total freedom, but first - it's very hard, second - if I want to change singular detail I have to redraw every frame, third - transition between animations is really painfull... especially in more complex games. So after few tries with frame animation I asked about, I decided to try bone animation and this one seems to be salvation for my project (however here is another problems - how to draw joints in a way that player wouldn't notice where they links, but I prefered to cope with this and I did, than with fame animations issues). Do you use bone animations? I think that I need bit more patience for frame animation, but I think I'll go back to that, when I have more time for exeriments.

Thank you for your offer . I'll keep that on my mind. If you'll need something where you think I might help you, feel free to ask as well. I make games in Unity in C#, but solutions of general problems can be usually handled independly on platform .

I wish you all the best .

So good that you hace such positive attutude about the creative process! Congratulations on that!

I actually do frame by frame animation. I've played a little with bones animation, but not very much.

Wish you the best, too!
