A Steam themed visual style for Windows 7. (Now updated with flash and progress bar version).
(Here's a video showing how the theme should look like when fully applied )
The visual style incorporates the appearance of Steam with a functioning Windows visual style.
The theme comes with 2 substyles - aside from the default, there's an automatically centering taskbar, and a more simple one. Will be adding another style later. Taskbar is usable with small icons, and side taskbar too, though the main focus is the bottom mode.
I'll be making matching icons and templates in a later release, but for now, it uses the timeless Token icons, as it was almost a perfect match for the Steam look. I'm also planning to make a matching Rainmeter suite.
I've also made preparations for making the Pixel Vision Steam theme styles VS.

I've also made an installer to be used with 7TSP.
I've separately uploaded the 7tsp installer, since DA has some kind of problem updating the main file when zip inside zip is involved. Download from my st.ash:

How to install:
You can install the theme using 7tsp now!
You can download 7tsp here: www.xptsp.com/fixit/7tsp.php
Download and install 7tsp, and browse for the .7z pack inside it, then click on "Start Patching".
OR the old method
What you have to do:
- Download and install UxStyle (uxstyle.com) OR Universal Theme Patcher.
- Copy the contents of Themes folder to \Windows\resources\themes folder.
- Apply it in personalization or double clicking .theme file you like.

Personally my favourite design. It just fits perfectly to my style!
However there are also some cons: Since I'm using several programs it appears that some colors seem to be to close together. One example would be that I can barely read the names of the tabs in my browser. Another would be that in Sony Vegas I cannot see anything because the background is nearly the same color as the text.
Nevertheless this design is veeery beautiful and I'd recommend it for everyone who is looking for a visual upgrade for his computer.
The best thing in this design is the taskbar. Because I just want to have it and I cannot use the whole design due to the colormixing in several programs, I wanted to ask, if there is a way to change just the tastbar into the steam taskbar?
I would be glad if somebody could give me a solution for this.

this theme shows the marks of a talented and experienced theme artist; originality within the standards; beauty in the usual. yorgash has blended two icons together seamlessly -- windows 7 and steam.
with great use of minimalism and matte colouring/finishing, this theme successfully acts as a user's portal to their chosen entertainment -- never impeding the experience or drawing attention to itself but simply and cleanly transforming windows 7 into a platform for games (steam or otherwise).
i'll readily admit to being a big fan of minimalism and darker themes (not that that makes me unique) but i think this theme stands out among the rest as a shining example of windows 7 transformation for the purposes of gaming.
all that said, i would say also that, as with any theme that affects explorer.exe this way, your options for any sort of word processing or other work can be fairly heavily hampered due to the dark lettering on dark background.
in short, if you have a machine that you use for gaming and nothing else, this is, in my opinion, the best theme you can put on it.

Yes, sadly though there are work-arounds for dark themes to change MS Office backgrounds, they're imperfect, and have to be done after every restart.

yeah... somewhat tricky stuff but certainly doable if you're interested/need it.
as i said, however, i'm using this as a theme for a gaming machine... no word processing intended

Perhaps the letters could be somewhat more white of colour. Only thing that would be usefull to me, if there was, and I mean this in general, a turorial with pictures, because a lot of people are in need to install this. I am glad that my english is not the worst kind of english a dutchman could write, but I would be glad if the there was a tutorial like I mentioned, with simpel screen prints....this file there, this file here etc etc. Never the less, again, last remark of my was a remark in general. I really love this theme!

Great theme, The only thing I did not care for was my voice communication tool bar became a little hard to read with the word being black and the back ground dark grey when the program is not selected. I.E TeamSpeak, Mumble, Ventrilo and so on. The same goes for Microsoft word and Excel being hard to work in due to the background being dark grey. However I don't feel this takes away from the over all enjoyment of this theme and its a must download if you like changing the theme on your computer. This way a great design and will be keeping a eye out for other themes to come.

I personally do not run Aero on my gaming PC because I only have 1.5 GB VRAM and I use NVIDIA's Surround. That feature puts a huge strain on my VRAM availability when playing any game in Surround, thus I mentioned this to the author when I found this gem. I was not only given a quick response, like 10 minutes, but the author provided a Win 7 Basic theme within an hour of my comment, literally an hour. The only thing I wish that would be added is an option for different colors concerning the HDD remaining space. All in all this is a solid, great looking and well supported Theme, 5 Stars.

ut seems this theme isnt formated for use with Theme Resource Changer... this one apparenlty still uses the complete manual method... what a shame tbh, was hoping it would be compatable with Theme Resource Changer so I wouldn't have to use 7tsp every time I wanted to load it...

Hey, could you help me solve my problem, I installed the pack with the installer and everything else works great except my taskbar icons aren't properly centered and I don't have the slanted edges on both sides of my taskbar. Thanks for the help and great skin! i.imgur.com/EtyXJE4.png

it's been a while I'm using Windows 7 now, and this is the only theme that actually is aesthetically pleasing, and doesn't requires Aero, a badly wirtten windows stuff that leads to other programs to crash, and wastes memory. now we have more bloat-y versions of Firefox, and every software, on a simple thinkpad with 4gigs of ram it begins to get short.
Yorgash's theme goes straight to the point. it's beautiful, simple and efficient, and I'm certain it's gonna be like win7, there to last.

unfortunately this theme doesnt work with nvidea shadowplay im sure its due to shadowplays need for aero than anything else

I think (though I've not used shadowplay myself) it disables desktop composition / aero. You can probably still use the theme's "basic" version. I really should combine the two, and then you'd be able to use it regardless of aero of basic mode is active. But currently I have hardly enough time (sadly) on my hands.

yea i looked into it and Shadowplay uses desktop composition (aka GPU accelerated desktop) to capture it. By disabling it, it goes back to old Windows style CPU rendered desktop, preventing Shadowplay from capturing it

It seems you need to patch a file called UxTheme.dll. There are instructions about it in the description (either using 7tsp or UxStyle).

Sorry I'm not sure from only tis much, but I'd try right click on the game -> properties -> Local Files tab -> verify integrity of game crash (and if that doesn't work, delete local game content too).
If that won't solve the issue, I can only think of hard drive problems, like bad sectors or disk space issues.
