Hey! Long time since I made some art about feudal Japan!

This time Minamoto no Yoritomo, the first Shogun of Japan, in full armor and ready for kicking some Taira asses.

Drawing his armor was... easier said than done, but also not as hard as I expected. Nevertheless, the most difficult part was the subtle shapes of the O-Yoroi. At first glance it kinda looks like a box, but it has a lot of subtle details. The Yoroi is based on a (probably) woodblock print, which I found attributed to being Yoritomo.

I should draw more stuff about the Genpei Wars. This guy was a must since I use his name as my username in nearly every social media (I made a portrait of him years ago but it looks hideous).
