This country was founded on separation of church and state. That's why I'm so sick of all these fundies trying to replace the Constitution with the Bible.
I can't think of any Christian theocracies besides the Vatican. Most theocracies seem to be Islamic.

It's said, to be a Democracy. The answer itself, varies from person to person though.Β

Liberalism is a religious disposition that conveys a perverted & humanist sense of ethics and morals. Therefore we can say that neither is America a humanistic Devilocracy. That said, an overwhelmingly sound argument can be made that the foundations of this nation are cemented by Christian ethics and biblical based polities. So whoever says we are not a theocracy is only half right. It's base is Judeo-Christian God and it was from that base that freedom of religion, expression, etc. and the establishment clause derived. History shouts this loud and clear and those who can't hear it are prejudicially plugging their ears (minds) to this reality & fact!

Not a theocracy.
An oligarchy disguised as democracy. Has been since its very foundation.

Another statement that is not substantiated and purely abstract. Please provide a comparison of countries wherein true liberty and freedom is foundational to its existence and daily life. I would love to see the contrast. Tell me, where is the better nation & government and if such exists, how do they sustain themselves and provide protection to their citizens from outside invaders? You know, stuff like that for comparison.

That is quite an ignorant statement. Could you provide all the necessary data to support such an outlandish statement? I mean, some intelligence on the matter should be provided. Otherwise it's merely 1 opinion out of 7 trillion and its value based on that ratio...if even that.
Counter motto: Until a person has killed another human being, no argument for or against killing should come out of their mouth.

Agreed. As much as those damn fundamentalist conservatives (the same ones trying to push misogynistic "traditional family values" and barring of women from the warzone, like Phyllis Schlafly) would like to make it so, America is (thankfully) not a theocracy.

Good ideaΒ since it is obviously saferΒ than going up against ISIL and no, I am not being highly hypocritical.
Militant atheists are not hypocritical at allΒ for going after christians but defending the followers of Allah, the propagandistic claim by christian fundamentalists that it is does not change reality.

 love the term "Idiocracy" the current political atmoshpere comes to mind ...and some the idiotic laws they come up with ... it wouldn't surprise me if they try to pass laws that outlaw teens kissing in public.
.... wait! Some cities/states DO or DID have a law of that! some were finally ended while others just ignored and forgotten.

nope read it in a book before on "Stupid Laws" there were several cities having laws about 'not kissing in pbulic' or not holding hands if you're not married to that person. Those laws dated from long ago (often 18th & 19th (victorian) century) and people forgot about them and never took them off the law books. I read one town in Oklahoma finally took such a law off the books after 100 years ... it was so outdated that it was forgotten until someone made the motion to throw it out

LOL these comments have made me llok online for more stupid laws (really should do a deviant for the luz)
Found this site where you can choose different states and look at a sample of some then choose if look at more details.
Dumb Laws= [link]
Samples
Texas- "It is illegal to take more than three sips of beer at a time while standing."
Alabama -"It is illegal to sell peanuts in Lee County after sundown on Wednesday."
Arizona - "Donkeys cannot sleep in bathtubs."
LOL I've not found the ones that sound Victorian (no kissing ect) yet... but only glanced at three states so far...

LOL they are real laws.
I found one for Auburn, Alabama= βMen who deflower virgins, regardless of age or marital status, may face up to five years in jail.β
Sounds okay, to protect the daughters out there...but wait! The "regardless of age or marital status" means all newlyweds have to leave town for the honeymoon! LOL

it has turned to a form of theocracy though. Religion isn't separated from the state (the church may, but not the religion), you only had christian presidents for decades, an atheist president seems unimaginable nowadays, they all finish their speeches by "God bless you".
Religious fanatics, integrists, fundamentalists such as creationists, evangelists and westboro batists church aren't forbidden by law, while in democratic and secular countries, they haven't the right to spread their hate messages.
USA today is maybe not a formal theocracy, but isn't far to it.
