WOW! What program did you use? I've modeled before, but they've turned out pretty sorry looking and not very functional for animation, mostly.

I like 'em. If you were to mass produce these as...oh i don't know...anyway my point is...they would sell really quick.

oh wow. i'm itching to learn maya myself.
is it really as difficult as i've heard?
i'm going to learn in as an independent study next semester in my tech class. unfortunately i have to read up on it and teach myself...no one in the building knows how to use it. so they're leaving me to the wolves.
but my goodness... if i could ever create something as wonderful as that, i'd be ecstatic. love love love it <3

I liked this!
Reminds me a bit of those Avatar animals... they were always a mixture of two or more RL animals.

Holy...this is low poly version? Looks way too high poly...but damn it's very amazing that you've kept it low poly while it looks high poly quality...amazing...
By the way, which modeling method did you choose? Polygonal? Nurbs? Sub D?

YoukaiYume In reply to CrucifixJEL [2008-10-30 18:59:52 +0000 UTC]
The original version is low poly. I just hit the "smooth" button. It's ideal when you're modeling though to keep it as low poly as possible. That way, when you hit the smooth button and it turns it high poly, it will still be kept to a minimum and would still look just as good as if it was a kajillion polys.

Wow! nice job youkai, thats pretty imaginative. What matrial was used to make him? and any intentions to maybe to a ceramic color version?

YoukaiYume In reply to Nightscream452 [2008-10-30 17:10:07 +0000 UTC]
It's a 3D model. Which means it was made on a computer in a 3D program called "Maya", not by clay. And if I wanted it a different color I could just change the material/color settings on it.
To answer your question it is made up of polygons.
