Description
Ezio Auditore walked with a purpose to the coffee shop on the corner. His next appointment was waiting; he knew that the attendee would wait for hours for him to arrive, but he didn't know if he could let them wait that long. He was tired yet didn't let it show on his strong frame and pristine Armani suit. He was tired, tired of having to be the ruthless business man, tired of having to take down rival companies, tired of listening to his employees say that he only got to where he was because of his rich uncle.

The last one always infuriated him. They didn't know him. They didn't know how he was the only survivor of that car crash that killed half of his family, leaving behind one visible scar on his lips. How he only was where he was because he took over the family business after his father died. How he knew that the wreck wasn't an accident at all and how he vowed to get revenge on the Borgia Company for hiring someone to cut the brakes. How he wouldn't rest until every last person on their council was taken down.

Well, he could only rest sometimes.

At 2 o'clock every Tuesday and Thursday, he would walk down to the Caffè di Antonio, order a mocha with no cover and sit down for a couple hours. At two, barely anyone was there, perfect for his weekly meetings that occurred there.

Ezio walked in through the door and saw Rosa, the pretty black-haired barista. 'Hello Rosa, you're looking beautiful today,' he said with a big smile.

Rosa laughed. 'Ha, I only wish. Do I even have to ask what you want Mr Auditore?'

'Ask away, I like hearing your voice my dear.'

'And you flatter away, I like feeling special.'

While she was making his drink, Ezio looked around. Besides Rosa and him, there was only one other person there, sitting in the second booth and looking out the window. Ezio smiled softly and waited until she was done. 'Thank you, Rosa,' he said when she handed his medium sized mocha over.

'You're very welcome Mr Auditore. Have fun,' she smiled and waved.

Ezio made his way over to that only other person sitting in the second booth. It was a slightly older man in a blue peacoat with a red hat and scarf. He had straw-coloured hair and beard and was gazing out the window in a dreamy manner. He hadn't even noticed Ezio's presence until the business-man sat down and started to speak.

'Leonardo, you really should stop day-dreaming,' Ezio said in a stern voice.

Leonardo jumped and turned around to face Ezio. He looked so startled that Ezio couldn't help but break his façade and smile. Leonardo put a hand to his heart, 'Ezio, don't do that. You know it scares me.'

Ezio took Leonardo's hand and sprawled across the seat, resting his head on the back of the booth. He didn't care that he was ruining the line of his suit stretched like this; around Leonardo he wanted to feel comfortable. They've known each other for a couple years now; Leonardo helps him with his work in his own odd way, the artist that he is. Ezio didn't think that he could help him at first, but Leonardo proved to have many other skills as well. With his excitable nature and curiosity, Ezio wondered why it took so long for them to fall in love.

Leonardo's other hand was resting on his chai tea while Ezio started to drink his own drink. After a sip, Ezio apologised, 'I'm sorry Leonardo. It's just too much fun. You look so startled and cute I just can't help it.'

A bit of a blush ran across Leonardo's face. 'Did you seriously just call me 'cute' Ezio? Honestly....' His head turned as he heard the door open and saw someone else come in. A small awkward moment passed until Ezio laughed.

'How is it that you noticed that man walking through the door, but you missed an entire conversation that I had with Rosa?'

Leonardo sighed a bit sardonically and turned out the window. 'I was just day-dreaming Ezio, you know how I am.'

'What were you day-dreaming about?'

Leonardo smiled as if he was waiting Ezio to ask and turned around to tell him and Ezio couldn't help but smile himself. This is where he belonged. Not in a tall building taking down other companies, not with his uncle running the family business. Just here, by Leonardo's side, listening to the dreams that they could share over coffee.

Yaaaay, it's finally done. I realised I had drawn Leonardo's outfit wrong for my previous pictures. xD; I was going off the initial character sketch that was up on the Assassin’s Creed Wiki and didn’t realise that it was wrong. Sooo, I decided that I may as well make my own rendition of it anyways and modernise the boys. Ezio, obviously, had to be in a suit. Leonardo I had a harder time with, but I thought that he would totally be artsy in this day and age and tried to make him look that way. Of course, I used the original colours for them, to try and keep up with what they’re really dressed like.

This is actually the second version that I had of this picture. I almost finished the first one and then decided that I hated the way I was colouring it. Then I messed around with SAI a bit and got this, the effect I was totally hoping for. I was also impressed with the way the background lines turned out (the design on the other hand...) I was just sketching and without even realising it, the lines converged at a single point. xD I’m so lucky talented. >w>

Also, the fanfic up there was a simple one shot. Not even beta-d. xD; It’s an AU, of course, where Ezio is a business man and Leonardo is his right hand man that almost no one knows about, lol.
