Oh, it's complete post production. Filters are freaking expensive. I use Picnik when I'm lazy, or Photoshop when I'm feeling zealous.

Picnik is great for easy photo manipulation. Photoshop is more time consuming, but you get the exact look you want.
Picnik is actually completely free right now, and there's no sign up. I love it. I created my vintage filter by comping a yellow and pink filter.
