Miles from any roads, nearest access is by the railway station. This bothy is a welcome sight for the lone walker. For anyone who doesn't know a bothy is, it's a very basic shelter found in the mountains and wilderness areas. It's free to stay in, and has no staff. I didn't stay in this one as it was too early to stop walking, but I made my lunch and it kept me out of the rain for a while.

This was taken during my week long solo hiking trip through the Highlands of Scotland badk in March/April 2011. The weather was very bad, and provided very few good photographic ops.

I like the scale of this picture; the tiny buildings dwarfed by the looming mountains.
