______
Tamnyrankin means Rankin's cultivated spot.

Here lies the very edge of the Sperrin mountains.

Again I jumped on my bike one day a few weeks ago and scooted up the foothills of the Sperrins to a place called Tamnyrankin. Up a long lane there is a 4500-6000 year old court tomb! That's older than Stonehenge and the Pyramids of Egypt. Though not quite so grand a burial place, it is very well preserved. If anyone would like to see the actual tomb, i have it in my Flickr gallery [link]

The views from up there were great and the local landscape was pretty wild. May you have noticed by now taht I have a a bit of a thing fro Carntogher Mountain. As you can see, it has madeup the background of most of the Tamnyrankin pictures.
