when was anybody gonna decide to hold this cute nerd's hands?????

i guess this is a great time to tell y'all that i HEAVILY self ship my irkensona, Yib, with Lard Nar (and i mean, i have since middle school with diff sonas dead of ASS)

a lil backstory on the two:

when Yib initially joined The Resisty, he was only here for a single thing, and that was to undo the damage he'd done in the empire, but a couple years in,, plans change a bit when he realizes how charming and lovable the captain was
unlike the empire, for once he really felt like he belonged here, and quickly he started pining for Lard Nar after time and time again bonding and getting to know him! he was, funny and passionate, he had spunk! and despite being discouraged or receiving bad reception, he consistently bounced back stronger like a TRUE fleet captain.

Yib felt stupid for thinking he was allowed to pine for him, it's just not something he thought was allowed.
however
over time of course, Yib has had many opportunities to really prove to the captain how impressive he was and man, Lard Nar was NOT disappointed. competent, listened well and carried out tasks expertly to a T, not to mention his skills with taking files from the empire's personal database untraced? how could the Captain not have some respect for him.

but alas, Lard Nar didn't really feel romantically for Yib at the time that he confessed his feelings, however it was very flattering?

he came around eventually, thinking about how Yib pined for him really fueled an ego he didn't even think he had! the more it crossed his mind, he soon caught himself daydreaming about the irken. it soon reached a point of recognition, "maybe i really do like him??" being around Yib eventually started to make him feel butterflies. every time the irken had something complimentary to say about him? it felt like a high almost every time
it was the following day that he brought up Yib's confession to him again, returning the same feelings
