Meet the Reapettes! An original action-fantasy series about five teenage girls who become the apprentices of the Grim Reaper after the land of the dead merges with the land of the living.

We all know that death is an unfortunate reality… but what if we knew the Grim Reaper was real too?

A witch running from the law (of the universe) destroys the fragile barrier between the Apart (the land of the living) and the Other (the land of the dead) as an act of rebellion. Now it’s total chaos: monsters wreck havoc all over the world, forbidden magic runs rampant, and the dead attempt to coexist with the living. The world’s balance of life and death is out of control! Mortem, also known as the Grim Reaper, has gone from benevolent guardian of the dead to the living’s most wanted due to manipulation and fear-mongering from the Apart and the witch herself. With Mortem and their council of other deities of death exposed for the whole world to see, they now have to maintain their regular duties while avoiding the wrath of the world and an organization hunting them down named B.O.S.S (Bureau of Otherworldly Supernatural Security).

The witch, known as Rose, seeks the death of death itself. She has proven the supernatural world to rally the living against it. A proud necromancer yet hater of the dead, Rose seeks to replace Mortem to rid the concept of dying all together- which she views as the ultimate evil- and become the judge, jury, and executioner of the universe. Unable to tackle it alone anymore, Mortem decides for the first time in forever (literally in this case), that the Grim Reaper needs help. If the living and dead don’t do something to help mitigate the mortifying madness, both worlds are doomed. But as anything supernatural is feared by the living, Mortem finds connecting with humanity- whom they’ve been fascinated by their entire “life”- near impossible.

However, hope lies in the rundown Canadian city of Duskwallow, as five teenage girls may be the key to help restoring balance: Bernice Roberts, Vivian Crypt, Erica Holperd, April-May Copenny, and Lena Tagwanibisan. The girls, shocked at first, are told by Mortem that they wish to train the next generation of supernatural defenders. The other death deities call Mortem crazy for wanting to have the living fight for the dead. But Death brings the girls- dubbing themselves the “Reapettes”- under their wing to train them into becoming defenders of the dead, advocates for abominations, and fighters against the wrath of the witch Rose. The girls meet with a bizarre cast of friends as well as enemies. They are sent on missions to help Death unload the burden of dealing with the dead, but Rose is always brewing new spells to revive the dead and destroy the Grim Reaper, while B.O.S.S is hunting down anything magical. But both living and dead wait in the shadows to strike! These adventures are grimly gruesome and gorgeously grotesque.
Reapettes is an action-adventure series with a soft magic system and ongoing plots with a strong focus on character development and a quirky yet alluring tone. Taking place in a supernatural setting, the story mixes in elements of monster-of-the-week, mystery, and fantasy. There's a lot of oddball humor revolving around the undiscovered and unnatural, but the show knows when to take itself seriously and has overarching threats established, from criminal organizations of the undead to chaotic witches obsessed with immortality.
