Vectored from one of the screenshots of the new episode by Eqd. Yes, I'm aware this has be vectored before but I modified their mouth expressions and added the feather to Twilight's wrist.Judging by the screenshots, there seems to be a lot of Twilight and Rainbow Dash interaction, which is always good! I sense a lot more exploitable TwiDash moments in this upcoming episode!

One, what happened 240 years ago, no one is alive from it. To reflect the misdeeds of individuals in the past onto their descendants is bad history. Would you enjoy it if someone said you're responsible for the near-genocide of the Native Americans (and yes, our ancestors did commit ethnic cleansing)? I wouldn't. And that doesn't mean WE are responsible for THEIR actions, right? So why should Britain today be despised for what their ancestors did 2 centuries ago?
Second, we were rebelling. They had all the right of any nation to put down rebellion. They weren't trying to murder everyone. In fact we Americans were British citizens at the time, The United Kingdom would in no way benefit from murdering every colonial. Their aim was to put down an uprising. Just as the United States did, 85 years later in The American Civil War. Now, do I think we shouldn't have separated? Of course not! Separation benefited both countries, and the US certainly had a lofty ideal to aspire to. But to say a country should not have the right to put down a rebellion would be silly.
Thirdly, Britain today and for the past century or so has been Americas closest ally. Even if the two nations started out as enemies they have since grown to form a very special relationship. One comprised of common language, history, culture and ideals. Americans and Britons have died in wars together, side by side for nearly 100 years now. Is that history worth ignoring in favor of misguided hate?
if you want to remain angry at an entire people for the sole reason that they were born on the other side of an imaginary line, then I guess that's your business. But there will never be peace in this world if we as men cannot learn forgiveness.

Hard-pressed to find a country in this world that doesn't have some roots or ties to Britain. America is one of them. So the anti-British sentiment, as well as confusing the Australian flag for the British flag (simply because there's a Union Jack in the top left canton), smacks of... Misunderstanding. To put it politely.
