Description (A/N: The reader is Loki's daughter. She's also fully human and doesn't share the abilities of her father. Not yet. XD)

"Do you have to leave, Daddy? I wanna go with you!" asks the sullen ten-year-old.

Natasha and Loki frown upon hearing this.

"I am afraid you cannot, my darling. I do not want you to hurt yourself."

The (h/c)-haired girl pouts and holds onto her father, vehemently opposing his departure.

Like many times before, he scoops her into his arms and wanders towards the hallway, evading the curious ears of the assassin.

"I won't get hurt, I promise. I want to go see grandpa and grandma," she grumbles, fisting his sleeve.

"I am sorry, (y/n), but it will have to be another time lest you get into trouble. Your idiotic uncle has brought forth complications with his fiancee—your aunt to be—and I must play mediator in order for them to settle their differences. Your Aunt Natasha is coming along for support and if a few bones must be broken,"  he mutters the rest under his breath, quietly giving out a cough.

(y/n) sighs and admits defeat.

"Next time, I will take you along to see them."

He presses a kiss on her head and drops her off in her room.

~Elsewhere~

"I am giving you a fair warning, Man of Iron: keep a close eye on my daughter. If a single strand of her hair is missing, I will have your head! Do I make myself clear?"

Tony smirks, adjusting his sunglasses.

"Ah, don't worry your little head off, Reindeer Games. Nothing'll happen to her."

Loki glares then takes his leave with Natasha in tow, who murmurs, "I can't believe you're trusting that knucklehead."

~

It's boring in the tower, that much she can agree on.

Grabbing her light-up (f/c) unicorn, she pads down the hall and finds herself in the living room. She plants herself on the couch and begins to flip through the channels on the tv. To her surprise, it's awkwardly quiet. Too quiet for her tastes.

Off in the distance, Bruce and Tony can be heard bickering back and forth, loud enough to wake Clint and Steve if it lingered any longer.

"We need to put this in a vacuum-sealed chamber, Tony! This crystal will latch on to any living source by any means necessary! It's dangerous to keep," Bruce demands, shutting the orb inside of its container.

Popping another blueberry into his mouth, Stark eyes the object and tears his gaze away when Banner snaps his fingers.

"Okay, okay! The first thing I do tonight, I got it."

Shocked, Bruce's jaw drops, prompting him to persuade the billionaire to rethink his decision.

"We can't wait until tonight. (y/n)'s here and we can't put her in danger! Did you forget that this thing loves to feed off of the energy of youths? She's a prime target, for crying out loud!"

Tony groans, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"Fine! I'll get JARVIS on it! God, you're killing me."

~

The arguing subsides and the rest of the area falls silent. Most of the adults have vacated the premises with the exception of Barton and Rogers.

Unnerved by the silence, (y/n) shuts the tv off and trots off, eager to find some fun within the walls of the tower.

Should she try to find the rec room? Balcony? How about the lab?

Yes! The lab always splayed interest to the youngster throughout her early years growing up.

Excitedly, she runs in the direction of the lab and comes face to face with it.

It's locked by a thumbprint.

Darn.

Out of desperation, (y/n) presses her face to the glass and catches a peak of something shiny. Darting her eyes around the room, they're hypnotized by a translucent glass container. The contents inside of it glow as soon as eye contact is established.

It's a ball of some sorts.

It has a smooth surface and a rich color of cyan. A single red dot stands out in the center of it. The red dot resembles that of an eye, misshapen and human like.

It's alluring and piques the child's curiosity. In fact, it's drawing her near.

Fearful, (y/n) pushes her face from the pane, unable to look away.

The power is strong, pulling her closer and closer.

In an attempt to bring her to it, the crystal shatters the glass from inside the windows and the door itself, yanking her into the room.

Terrified, she lets out a blood-curdling scream as the unseen force picks her hand up and places it on top of the red eye. The red light flares up, absorbing the girl's energy.

Upon hearing the scream, Steve rushes into the lab, horrified at what he finds.

"(y/n)!" he shouts, trying to grab her.

One touch sends him stumbling backwards to the ground, hissing in pain.

Clint arrives shortly after and runs to Steve, hoisting him up.

"You can't get her out?"

The blond huffs, "No, I can't. If you touch her, you'll get burned."

Clint frowns.

"Burned? But it's ice," he counters, twice as confused.

"Yeah, but it burns like liquid fire. Damn it, I think we're gonna have to wait for Loki. In the meantime, let's keep an eye on her."

~Three Hours Later~

"Do you see what I mean? When a woman spills her guts to you, you're supposed to shut up and listen to her," Nat gripes.

Loki nods and sighs.

His brother is such an idiot.

"Where is everyone?" he wonders out loud.

As if on cue, the duo hears screaming coming from the lab.

"DAD!"

In the speed of light, the god runs to his daughter's voice and feels the breath leave his body.

His precious child is frozen to the floor and to a mysterious orb.

"Loki! You have to touch the orb! It won't allow us to!" Clint yells, holding his aching arm.

He's angry, but far from angry. He's outraged.

How could Stark allow this to happen?! He was supposed to be keeping an eye on her!

Cautiously, he inches toward her and reaches for her.

She's very cold, the ice entrapping her slowly forming a casing around her small body.

It's solidifying her!

Acting accordingly, he places one hand on hers and another on the orb, muttering something inaudible.

The ice melts away, leaving the room slippery and wet.

"Loki-"

He picks up (y/n) and retreats to his room, ignoring the silent stares that follow his very steps.

~

"How are you feeling, my dear? Are you still hurt?" He cups her face, rubbing away the frozen tears that cling to her cheeks.

She shakes her head, scared senseless that being in her father's room always meant trouble.

Loki looks into her (e/c) eyes and is chilled to the bone. Though the ice is gone, her skin remains a light blue and her eyes are ruby red; a haunting reminder of what he has too.

"I am not mad at you, (y/n). This was not supposed to happen, but I cannot control time or your curiosity," he consoles her, tapping her nose.

Her lips quiver and she cries into his shoulder. "I'm really sorry, Dad!"

He wraps his arms around her and shushes her, rubbing her back.

"It is okay, but now you are almost to the age where I must confess something of my own to you. Do you know why you are like this?"

She sniffles, wiping the tears from her eyes.

"The c-crystal?"

He chuckles, "Not quite. It is because of me and it may look bad, but it is not. In fact, your mother would be proud of you."

Her eyes return to their normal shade of (e/c) and the blue fades from her (s/c) skin.

"Really?!" she squeals, a smiling perking on to her lips.

He nods. "Furious, yes, but proud. You see, you have powers that most children your age do not have. Here, hold out your hand," he explains, resting his hand in front of her.

Hesitantly, she holds her hand out on his.

"Close your eyes and picture something that you want. Anything, but you must concentrate."

(y/n) does as she's told, sitting silently and imagining. Loki watches her and lets out a delighted sigh. In her hand lays a Pokeball ice sculpture, the intricate designs similar to that of an actual Pokeball.

"Open your eyes, darling."

Her eyes flutter open and she squeaks, the sadness from earlier gone.

"Good job, my dear! You are on your way," he praises her, patting her on the head affectionately.

She beams, "So you're not mad?"

The god shakes his head. "Nonsense! I must admit that I am mad, just not at you."

She hugs him with all the might a child has, thankful that she's not in trouble. "I love you, Dad."

"I love you, too. Now, run along and find Aunt Natasha. She is looking forward to going shopping with you. I heard that she has been planning on buying you a (fave Pokemon) plushie!"

That sends her running out of his room, but not before leaving a gentle kiss on his cheek.

~~~
"Oh, shit... Give me a chance to explain," Tony pleads, raising his hands to defend himself.
Loki grins wickedly as he advances towards the billionaire.
"I gave you one simple task, you wretched fool! One task and what do you do? You leave my daughter by herself and go gallivanting!"
He raises a hand, threatening to finish him. However, it never happens.
"Have fun finding your orb," is all he tells him before they hear a loud roar rumble from the upper levels of the tower.
"HULKSMASH!"
Tony face-palms as Loki disappears, grumbling to himself.
"Asshole..."
