“Look,” she said. “I assure you that A, this is definitely for real, and B, that this is all completely safe.”

Mindy scoffed. “Jennifer, you are a functional lawyer but you don’t seem to know jack about science or math. First the math. If there are eight of us competing, that leaves each of us an 87.5% chance of being frozen. And on display for a week, for anyone to see! Second, the science is that freezing kills you at the cellular level.”

“Yes, that science used to be true, until CryoGames developed a serum that preserves cells during the freezing process, thus making it completely safe.”

“You’re so full of crap, Jennifer, and we’re all sick of it,” Mindy shot back.

“If you’re so sure of that, why don’t you prove it? You should know I slipped a full dose of the antifreeze serum into your Red Bull an hour ago.”

The rest of the women in the group gasped but the violation of this just made Mindy even more desperate to prove to everyone what an attention whore Jennifer really was.

“Then go ahead,” Mindy said. “I’ll be your guinea pig. Freeze away!”

Jennifer beamed a triumphant smile. “That sounds like clearly expressed consent to me.” With that, she spun on her heels and strode out of the room.

Mindy’s laughter now had a tinge of unmistakable nervousness.

“So if I’m going to get frozen, I suppose I should let my hair down, set aside my purse and settle into a pretty pose.”

But by the time that Jennifer strode back into the room wielding a large scientific-looking weapon, Mindy’s cute pose shifted into a hands up defensive stance. This was the exact moment that Jennifer activated the weapon, sending an icy beam straight into the chest of a now-horrified Mindy.

“Oh my god! Look at her! What’s happening,” said Maureen, the Irish legal secretary who was probably closest to being a friend to Mindy in the firm.

“She’s been frozen, “ Jennifer said flatly. “Now watch the ice block form around her.”

Which is exactly what happened next, to the astonishment of everyone but Jennifer, who soaked herself in the moment, and sexually, at the visage of the now frozen solid Mindy.
