This is the 2nd watercolor postcard I have painted today.

It is based of a photograph of Pajunen :

I still have a hard time with water / water effects, so it looks really weird but I kinda like the colours (I always tend to divert from the original color scheme).

I used a wet on wet technique as I really like it ^^

Format: 10x14 cm Arches postcard
Tools: Winsor & Newton Cotman Watercolours

Very nice! I think I like the painting better than the photo.
I'm not the best at critique, but the only weak area is the foreground.
However, that is largely due to the small size of the piece. It is difficult to add detail to small works, without over working the art.
All in all, you have made a fabulous piece. Love those clouds!

Oh thank you, I appreciate you input
I only started learning watercolours (and overall traditional painting) 3 months ago, so I'm just focusing on trying to find the right balance of water vs paint right now.
Detailing will come soon I hope

Well, wet on wet is a good choice to learn with (in my opinion), and fun too!
Also detail is secondary when using a wet style.
